Kyrstal's hair is too short. Not even the right color, skin too pale. Etc she has enough differences, so I'm not sure where you got that idea from. Plus Elena is not nearly as Promiscuous. As for the fling, I don't really see the issue. Elena told him to enjoy his life, even though this was more out of depression and loneliness, even in times of true faith. Desperation makes people do crazy things sometimes and at this point in the timeline Damon is very desperate and alone. Doesn't mix well with his personality.

God, They are friends now and he wants her to think good about him. She's a bff with his girlfriend so here's another reason. Their friendship with Bonnie is on the old Delena terms without all sexual tensions and flirt. So it's cute. Why do you people never can see what it's clear for anyone WHO can read between the lines: metaphors, suggestions, allusions... All of it really has to be told just like that, put on the table? And one thing: in the books their friendship was different, they kissed ocassionally, cared for each other (Bonnie was more childisch and annoying by the way) but the truth is that he always wanted Elena, from the very first moment. That was one of the few things that Plec didn't change in the series.

Delena was hella toxic! Elena always tried to change Damon to her liking. Even as friends Bonnie accepted Damon for his faults and let him be him. Damon changed to be better because of Bonnie, and Bonnie didn't even try to change him. Even their chemistry was better than Elena's and Damon's. Damon and Elena's started off on messed up pretenses with Elena pretty much emotionally cheating on Damon while still with Stefan. That is why Bamon should have been endgame❤️
