I’m currently rewatching this show and I can never understand how people think Elena was meant to be with Damon. Stefan respected Elena and her choices so much more but because Elena “makes Damon a better person” she should have to deal with his toxicness? Damon never actually respected Elena or Stefan for that matter. In the end, Elena became just as toxic as Damon and I’m glad Stefan ended up with Caroline.
