Filmed in Mid Wales, David's demonstration captures our precious, vanishing landscape, before the blight of the ever encroaching wind farms destroys it forever. David is passionate about protecting the wild places and believes wind energy, by it's intermittent and unreliable nature, is not reducing our reliance on fossil fuel,

I, too, share David's revulsion of those abominable wind turbines. They are destroying our landscapes, killing our birds, and driving people crazy who are unlucky enough to live near them. I love David's landscapes!

Great demo David the birds in the back ground added to your painting, lovely to hear the cuckoo. It appears the Wales we love is vanishing. I wish you success in your crusade to save our vanishing wilderness areas, They are attacking Vancouver Island the same way. I am a great fan of yours ,have many of your books.

Wonderful. Thank you for that. Great to see a master at work, particularly as the enthusiasm and passion shines through. Quite inspiring, really.

I love David Bellamy's paintings. I lost my right hand in a lumber mill accident, seventeen years ago,1998. I had to start over with my left hand and find something creative that I could do since the things I had done were now impossible. I taught myself watercolor painting. If I could I would love to watch David in person. Thank you everyone for putting him on you tube. Judy

Thank you, all of this is happening in Australia too. We have to record as much as we can for our grandchildren.

Lovely demo! But at the end horrific ugly windturbines! I hat a friend, sadly past away, he told me, with no wind there is a small engine that turning the blades, so it looks like they are worth the money! He worked for the company here!

To my understanding, the small motors are for giving them initial momentum, not faking a spin, which would take too much energy. They are like giant flywheels with a lot of inertia. In most cases they just don't spin at all, as seen in this very video.

David wonderful painting. you should get a copy of a book called ' the useless flipping wind turbine book' . I agree with you as regards these are destroying our landscape along with the new solar panel fields. Thank goodness for being able to miss out certain things you don't want in a painting..Enjoy watching your work and have learnt many new techniques .

I totally agree with you about the ruin of of our country side to give power mostly to England. I use to work at building these things and I use to work within the building of power stations. We have to actually build more power stations and less of these ugly wind turbines. I love your painting and have done so for a yea years.

I too like the Cuckoo in the background, sadly the Cuckoo is now gone in Ireland along with the Grass Hopper, the Lizard, the Corncrake, I could go on.

I could not agree with you more on the destruction of our wild places! If we are not careful all we will have left are "official" parks while the rest of the landscape is converted for other uses. This creates veritable islands for the wildlife greatly reducing genetic diversity among species. I love to paint the landscape but am saddened by how it is treated in the industrial age.

Love nature and exploring just do not know how to paint from life or photos yet just memories :)

Try taking a sketchbook when you go exploring, start with just a part of the scene rather than all of it. Just focus on the part that grabs your attention, and from there you can expland outwards. Just use pencil to start with and it will soon become easier.

+hytte majer One that is not intermittent and unreliable. One that produces baseload. The problem with wind and solar is that they increase carbon emissions due to the fact that the gas fired back up power stations have to be kept running on standby which means they produce more CO2 not less. If we want to reduce emissions then Nuclear and CCGT are the best option at the moment. We should be channelling our research into Fusion Nuclear which is safer than Fission and produces less waste.

Tidal. Predictable, abundant and constantly flowing around our coastline (and the likes of David Cameron's father in law wouldn't get £360,000 p.a. for having a few wind turbines on his land).

Great painting. Sad wind turbines. These ugly monstrosities not only ruin the landscape all over the world they also kill birds and produce subsonic sounds which make people ill who live near them. How much energy does it take to make and maintain them? Do they ever produce enough to recover that energy?
@JennyKeal
@JennyKeal 8 жыл бұрын
+Pat Harrison You are so right Pat, the destruction of our wild places has been in vain, as no discernible reduction in CO2 emissions has been achieived. Everything is wrong with wind power and thankfully the new energy secretary, Amber Rudd seems to understand this. I hope this scam is coming to an end.

So sad to hear what these money grabbers are doing to the landscape, Mr. Bellamy...aren't there any conservation groups to help? Maybe Prince Charles would have some influence?

I don't like his style, it's too careful and safe, Watercolour is an exciting medium and should be done in a way which exploits its unpredictable nature....
