Totally agree! Once they revealed that passage from her diary about how her step dad kissed her, it was obvious that it was her. As sad as it may be, he likely molested her and wrapped her up in the blue blanket and buried her somewhere, and then released his dog nearby to use as an alibi as to where he was during the timeframe when he wasn’t home (because he was disposing her body) then releasing the dog. I’m thinking maybe she threatened that she was going to tell her mother or authorities. Kind of makes sense since she was seen crying at her locker, and when asked what was wrong, she stated that she was okay, and that she would take care of her issue the following day. Then the following day she said she was sick, and stayed home, where her step dad was too. I think he tried to take things further and she tried to fight him off or said she was going to call the cops or her mom, so he killed her to silence her. I cannot fu€king believe that her mom stayed with the guy. She must be in total denial.. EVEN IF there’s no solid evidence that he killed her daughter, there’s definitely circumstantial evidence, and she must know about the diary entry her daughter wrote about the piece of sh!t kissing her daughter. "Her hair was cut short at the time of her vanishing" Young teenage girls cutting their hair short can be an indicator of abuse or assault. I also hoped to look less attractive and more tough, and changed to wearing more " Tomboy" clothes including borrowing my older brother's clothes. What's more likely is the dog was freaking out because he heard Rachel in distress and he realized that letting the dog outside would keep him from barking and also could be an excuse for why he'd left the house and didn't see Rachel leave..This case has always bothered me because it's so damn obvious what happened..😒

The cops dropped the ball big time. As soon as they said the blanket and pillow were missing I knew she was dead. Left in snow with no winter clothing. The diary entries. If that was my daughter Vince would have told me everything. I’d be in prison but I’d know what happened. The mother disgusts me to no end.

@@Idkdude50 oh please don't get it twisted. I am a mother, I lived a truly horrible childhood. So I've literally lived this sort of hell myself. And accepted children into my home many many times, because parents don't have time to work, and know where there children are at all times. Not judging. I was the block mother in my area. I do not turn a blind eye ever. I just cannot watch the videos of these children being put through hell. I do my share to protect children while their parents are working. And the parents knew their children were safe. But thank you for your info. God bless

All too often, live-in boyfriends, step fathers are often perpetrators of abuse to the children of their new partners, Mothers, PLEASE be cautious when choosing a new partner. Men can be patient predators.
@rabbitsonjupiter68242 жыл бұрын
I agree. If I was single with a young child, I wouldn't invite a man into my life. My priority would be the safety of my child. I wish mothers would put their children first, rather than their own needs. When men move into the home of a woman with children, they don't seem to have an emotional bond with them, and seem to view the child/children as a threat. Almost like lions picking off the cubs of other lions in the pride.

all the stories i have heard of child abuse and child murders it is always always the mom and her bf or stepdad, some women are so feckless and just bring any man home around there childrens poor kids
@crystaloats81772 жыл бұрын
Women too. Evil stepmothers are scary too. Facts are mixed families have much higher rates of abuse compared to intact families. I’m not saying biological parents never abuse children, we know evil nut jobs exist everywhere. But we also know predators often look for desperate single parents just to abuse their children. Be cautious and wary of anyone around your children. You can also have romantic relationships and not involve your children. I’ve dated men and never let them around my children unsupervised (without me there) or let a man move in when I had young children. I mostly had trusted family and sitters, never a boyfriend. Don’t be afraid to do background and google checks either! Protect your children at all costs! It boggles my mind that people leave their children with strangers they barely know. Never leave your children with a significant other you haven’t vetted and gotten to know extremely well. If they are pushing to meet your children, it’s a red flag.

Okay so this is still unsolved? Ya gotta be kidding? They need to put pressure on the step dad's "alibi" the dog situation, the timing, they need to search the area where the stro dad takes the dog.. I feel she was going to tell on him for his bad behavior. He didn't want to get in trouble. So he made he disappear.. it's very sad. The investigation needs to look into this as a start. It could be different but the timeline is very important and so I would start there..

If the Stepdad is guilty the body would have to be very close in proximity to the house. OR, he contacted an evil Acquaintance an said “ I’m leaving for a half hour, the door will be unlocked, make the girl disappear”. Whatever happened, he’s involved.

The step father has something hiding. The way he behaved and how he touched her inappropriately shows red flags. He needs to get investigated again. He knows more than what he says. My heart goes out to her biological father. I can only imagine how he feels not knowing where and what happen to her. Shame on her mother .. I hope she has a guilty conscious going on with her life on behalf of what her daughter wrote in her diary. Poor baby girl. I was born and raised part of my childhood in Melrose park, IL.

This story really touched me. I also listened to Alanis Morisette a lot when I was growing up... and in my 20's. I just recently listened to "hand in my pocket," while in tears...and at the end of the song, it says..."What it all comes down to, is everything's gonna be fine, fine, fine. Because I'VE GOT ONE HAND IN MY POCKET, AND THE OTHER ONE IS HAILING A TAXI." I hope she got that taxi and is happy. She was either running away from "something" or planning to. If you listen to the song, it's about pain and still having hope. I'M SAD THAT SHE WAS SUFFERING THE WAY SHE WAS. I hope she is still alive and just left her old life behind and didn't want anyone to know.

@crystaloats81772 жыл бұрын
DNA wasn’t as advanced then. “Touch” DNA and other forms of retrieving DNA off of bodies wasn’t as mainstream as today. If he showered, cleaned the scratch marks, probably not enough DNA still present. It’d be better to find his DNA/skin cells under her fingernails, but since there is no body 😕 I really hope she is found and given a proper peaceful burial, allowing her loved ones to fully mourn. This poor child, I hate humanity sometimes. The monster (probably stepdad) needs to be put away for this crime. The mother too, if she’s an accomplice.

Vince didn't go out on a half hour walk with the Shepard. This is metro Chicago. 20 below windchill is brutal and everyone in Da Town knows it. He let out the dog because the dog might have been protective of Rachel. The cold is another character in this story. The police would not have been - or should not have been - Zen about a child wandering around in minus 20 windchill. Chicago winters can kill. With the scratches, I think they had enough to go after Vince. Poor Rachel. Sweet child. Grows up in Melrose Park and Bolingbrook, two depressing suburbs overweighted with losers like Vince, to say nothing of Drew. No offense to their Chambers of Commerce.

The poor dog managed to survive 2hrs 30mins outside too before being found and rescued, poor thing.
@1rjbrjb2 жыл бұрын
@@aye70aye I am so with you on the dog. You have a dog in Chicago. It's minus 20 windchill. You say to him, as you are taking him to the porch: "it's really cold out there! Do your business! Quick! Quick"! Bless the creatures they are dogs, not casualty actuaries. They are oblivious. They run down. They start sniffing around as usual. It hits them in about 40 seconds, mas o menos depending on the breed. Then they do the business and run madly up the stairs. It is criminally culpable to leave a dog outside for hours in that weather. Even a 30 minute walk would be cruel & crazy. Hey, it's Chicago. The city doesn't shut down, the Bears play. But everyone is protective of dogs kids & seniors in that kind of cold. The man told nothing but lies.
