45 years old and grew up on gravel roads.. worked for farmers as a teenager.. baled hay, milked cows, raised steers, suffered chickens and roosters, raised rabbits, hogs, castrated piglets.. all that good stuff ... Now I get to listen to the Vaselines live. SO COOL

My sister and brother are older than me by 12 and 9 years. I turned 50 in March and am the only person I personally know who heard The Vaselines before I heard Nirvana. I saw Nirvana before Nevermind as well. All basically by accident. I was into rap like NWA and ICE T but I also liked Guns N Roses. My sister and brother were very punk Indie before it was popular, and they played Vaselines, Stone Roses, Pixies, Black Flag, DK, you name it. When I first heard Vaselines I would yell to turn it off, this sucks 😂 My sister took me to see Nirvana and Tad when they were touring Bleach either 89/90, and I really liked it. So much so that I bought a cassette. Anyway, once I got into Nirvana circa 90-94 I rediscovered Vaselines who I now love and have for many decades. The death of my brother has me going back listening to all Vaselines I can get my hands on. RIP Brother B.

I'm glad to see they're evolving in a tasteful, Buzzcocks sort of sense instead of just disintegrating creatively and phoning it in like Green Day started to before they even tuned 25. They must have a lot of respect for their art form. :)

Both tragic, long-term Vas addicts. It started back in the 80s with a few prunes (what harm can a few prunes do? When you're full of shit?) And escalated: Blue bummers, Lube-Tube, WD40... you name it :(
