The Princess Ira von Furstenberg had a very haunting kind of beauty. She only just died, last month. I think she only acted at the urging of her rich film-industry friends, but she did well enough for this film. It's very much of its type, but contains a few surprises and is worth a watch. Furstenberg and Kinski good to watch anyway.

I came in late yesterday to this live stream. I am sorry I missed the opening music. Just turns me on to no end. I miss the 60's, the exotic foreign films as these, the look, fashion, the beautiful women, handsome men -- this is a genuine great film even though I no speakie Italiano. Lol!

I think it is silly with all those significant looks, sexism of men brimming with confidence and women dolled up, cool cars and fashion of the day. James Bondian all around. Good material for a study of the time - we see what was desirable when the West was sure of itself and unchallenged by the crises we have come to live with today.

At least Rogers and Scott survived, other three simply died for nothing. The professor is a real bad seed, killing people who helped him and it turned out he never really wanted the treasure.

At various points in the movie English subtitles show "she" when the correct translation is "you." I guess we have AI to thank for that. I'm not sure if it's due to real-time Google translation or to a bad subtitle script. Weird. [A few minutes later...] After rewinding the video, it seems some of the "she/you" mistakes -- but not all -- have been corrected. So I guess it's using real-time AI translation and somehow needs a bit of time to build enough context to translate ambiguous pronouns. Or maybe I'm just going mad... [And a few minutes after that....] Okay, I am realizing that the thing that generates the Engish subtitles is just not up to pronouns, period. 🤗
