Nokie Edwards & I first met at the Kyoto BelAmi Club in Japan in April of 1980. He was just a guest customer at this club, & he asked me to go out & paint the down red after my performance wc we did. A wonderful person Nokie was ! Very famous in Japan . I’ll never forget him & the great time we had that night.

They are absolutely fabulous!!! the BEST of the BEST!!!! I had the opportunity to se them live when they went to Mexico City in 1965 and they still sound the same if not better. Uncomparable!!! LOVE them!!!

My son who is a drummer this was the first drum solo he learned-and always and still does uses this sometimes as warm up-great memories for mom-still plays this for me when im at his place-WIPE OUT

I saw them live in Chicago twice and loved it both times. And both times I was stunned how there were people from teenagers to old people packing the place hanging from the rafters rocking out to the Ventures music. Their performances were greatly loved by the crowds

Watched the entire thing and this guitar has steadily improved over the decades. It used to be that if you played out just about any where you were required to play many Venture versions of a wide variety of songs. If you didn't comply, you were simply not eligible to get the 2nd week of work. Sounding like the Venture was a requirement across the USA for opening or closing many sets. That about sums it up.

We lost Bob Bogle a year or so later! Nokie Edwards is 81! Don Wilson is 84... they put instrumental guitars with a fantastic sound and creative licks and some excellent bass riffs on the map. Every guitarist started because they wanted to play like these guys! Notice they are playing "up to temple" and not missing a beat!

Losing uncle Bob was one of my saddest moments. Don’t know why, but my mom ( married into the Bogle line), uncle Bob, and I (Phillip) all had some form of cancer. Mom and I beat it, Bob did not. Uncle Bob gave me my first and best guitar a Mosrite Ventures Model Mark V.

back in ventures' heyday, a musical group or a band was called a combo. well at least in the country (philippines) and region (bicol) where i grew up. and guess what those bands loved to play then? now, it's 2020 jan. and i stlil love to watch and listen to the ventures. clean, crisp guitar playing, bouncy drum rhythms and dancing tunes. i''ll never have enough of their music.
