My first double album was "Play along with the Ventures" - you could play bass, rhythm or lead guitar by playing along with tracks that were recorded without the guitar part you wanted to play....so it was like being on the record itself!

Not likely. He was stung, badly, when some well meaning political operatives floated his name as running for Congress over a decade ago. They didn't bother to ask him about it first. He wasn't happy when he found out. It's doubtful that he has political aspirations, though he probably still does Pentagon related work and has high level security clearances.

Jeff is obviously having a blast playing with his childhood hero's. Something people my not know about Jeff, he is a true genius. The U.S. military hired him to design new types of weapons for them. We are talking abut a guy who has no formal training / no education in that area of expertise at all.\\ None! Its a bizarre story that is hard to even believe but its true. I guess for me I have a tough time with it because here is this guy who is a smoking guitarist and seems to be someone that on his appearance is this laid back pot smoking hippie for the 70s.....but then I guess you just never know..... BTW I do love and always will love the Ventures!

From what I understand, he Likes the angle it gives him when hes playing, (clearly not a *very technical way of explaining) , but somewhat the same as Robert Fripp plays sitting .
@richardgray85933 жыл бұрын
Somebody asked him that on an interview. Before Steely Dan, he was employed in a famous NYC music store working on Andrés Segovia guitar while Segovia was waiting on a couch in the showroom. Segovia made a somewhat negative remark about some guys trying out guitars while standing, so Baxter took that as expert advice that he should sit.
