Apart from all the dance music festivals I went to that had DJs, I feel really blessed that I saw real bands with actual musicians at all the other music festivals that I went to from 1993 to 2016. There were occasions when a band just relied wholly on their laptops (MGMT, Grimes, Andrew WK, Prodigy, etc) and it was usually underwhelming. Nowhere near as powerful nor as exciting as a tight band with drums, bass, guitar and keyboards. I realise most people don't care. They're just there to have a good time. But I really think kids today are short-changed by lazy/greedy artists who take the easy way out and just sing over backing tapes.
