Gerber's "eternal warrior" concept also pops up in his final work with Doctor Fate. He also indicated Nevada and her ostrich might have shown up in that if the series had continued but, as known, Gerber sadly passed before issue 8.

It's a personal running gag of mine to claim Hirohiko Araki doesn't know how to draw, because while it's among my favorite comics, I don't agree that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure follows the stylings that got Tezuka's legacy named "manga" in the West. By the virtue of a racist loanword tying those influnces to Japan, over creators like Marcelo de Sousa or Moebius. I can't get over the fact the UK new wave like gorillaz doens't count as "the anime style" but Crayon Shin-Chan or even Kimba the White Lion on the other hand DOES, according to flimsy arguments that it is, "just a style". I would name it taxonomically, as coming from the industry that is seated in the Japanese work culture of running the big shounen magazines and sakuga animation studios. A western artist could make a Japanese Manga by running that industrial gamut, and fitting in with that crowd, like Hirohiko Araki despite his personal style. A style I find very similar to gErber.
