This song struck a cord with me the first time I heard it. I think we all long for that someone who'll stand by us, even when everyone else is walking away. Several years later I found that someone. I'm so lucky that I found her and that she sticks by me in both my colorful and gray moments. We made it our wedding song.

martyapo good god, what an awesome post! I found that girl years ago and I was too stupid to realize it. I'm alone now and I think of her always. I wish i were as lucky as you. Good job and I hope your life is awesome now
@jamestaylor38797 жыл бұрын
martyapo your posting was moving. Yes you're right we all long for that special person who will be right there thick or thin. For me the thing on was searching for. More than any other was fight for me/us. That the relationship was important enough to struggle for, to sacrifice for, to do whatever it took/takes to make things work far beyond those initial pie in the sky fantasy times when reality hits home. Instead of being involved with a super being perfect in each and every way that in fact the person we chose to be with is a normal Human Being with flaws and imperfections there right alongside the strengths and talents that attracted you initially. For me I've fought for everyone else in my life. I am cursed, or blessed, with loads of empathy for others. I'm able to easily effortlessly put myself into others positions and feel what they do just as strongly. I therefore cannot stand bullies of any kind. All of my physical fights except for one, have been in defence of others too weak, for whatever reason, to defend themselves. Usually that turned out to be the steroid types who would want to kick off the evening by really impressing the ladies by kicking the crap out of someone. It wouldn't be much fun, and certainly fail to achieve the desired results if they themselves ended up on the loosing end of things or hurt or even if the fight was close nope, no fun atall! So to ensure nothing of that sort occurs they pick the smallest weakest geekiest person in the entire place with at least a 100 pound of advantage. Everything goes perfect right up until this tall skinny dude pops up out from nowhere. Still not a problem as steroid still outweighs skinny by a lot. But it is going to be a fight cause skinny isn't going to abandon geek dude and amazingly skinny doesn't appear scared, even after the threats and yelling that scared everyone else. The thing that really stuns though is that the first hit doesn't drop skinny and in reply skinny returns four for the one initial hit. Steroid has already lost her just doesn't know it. After the confrontation skinny leaves without most even being aware because for him the night has been ruined so no need to stay. Skinny hates violence hates fighting thinks there is no more less intelligent way of handling problems but sometimes necessary. All my life's been like that, most times not physical bit this a good example. I was adopted my brother wasn't so my dad pursued my brothers love and affection and didn't much care for mine, he supported his dreams and pursuits financially and otherwise. All kids need a little help but not with mine.i was within 100 dollars of achieving my lifelong dream of being a commercial pro pilot. I had the rest of my schooling paid for, at the best school in the world even, but I had to get my private license first and only lacked the final flight test the hundred bucks. My then mother in law then sabotaged me by enacting a plan she had been working on for months prior. It worked very well as it cost me my job and prevented me from getting another job, borrowing money from others, or even getting to my training field if I could have found some other way. Her Plan was insideous, brilliant and perfect. I found out years later, when she called out of the blue to apologize, turns out she was very ill and being old then, believed she might be dying so was clearing her conscious- and Here I thought she didn't have one... But she told me that her reason, only reason, was she believed that when I got my private licensce and then went to the flight school in Florida, even though not far from Dallas where we then lived, that I would take her daughter with me and away from her. Worse still that when I completed my training in Florida then was hired with an airline that who knows where in the world I would take her daughter away to. I knew exactly however. I had a job lined up with American Eagle Airlines, the commuter feeder airline of American and I knew too that American Eagle was being acquired by American soon. By now I would have been a very senior Captain flying international routes and flying competition aerobatics as a hobby. Or I would be a professional aerobatics racing pilot flying the Red Bull circuit if everything went exactly as I wanted and planned.... But I lost my dream. I can go on and tell you about the most recent time a family member betrayed me blocking me from getting the sales job I had been working hard to get from the time I realized I would never be a pilot. The job that would finally allow me some comfort and a retirement to look forward to as I had nothing before being forced to live paycheck to paycheck. And many other 5hings like that. But it boils down to me fighting for and defending everyone around me, even those I didn't know but nobody ever never fighting for me. All's I want is to find somebody who believes that when that reality hits, when problems start to. Occur as they always do in life from time to time that they're willing to work through the problems WITH me as a team as partners... But in today's day and age it's till the first problem or hardship does us part not till death as it used to be. Sad n sucks. But true. I'm very happy for u that u managed to find one of the few that will stick it. Out. U r extremely lucky.

Lesson I took from this film is how you can go out of your mind sometimes acting irrationally thinking it's the right thing to do. This man had a dream but watched everything else around him crumble to get it, he lost those he loved leave him and when he finally reached his goal it wasn't who he wanted. In the end he ended back with his true friends and family. Powerful story.

In a way it pays tribute to how Seattle / Grunge pretty much ended the glam rock scene. That said, I wouldn't have classified the fictional Steel Dragon as glam.
@Isaiflamand7 жыл бұрын
MWdream No, GnR did end glam metal, even if in their beginning 1985-1986 they wore make up and put hairspray, but after their first album A.F.D, it was a new sounding album, no ones ever heard such violent lyrics during that era, they wrote songs about what they saw in Sunset strip, drugs, whores, violences... The other bands just wrote song about what everybody wanted to see in Sunset strip. GnR pretty much opened the door for other genres than Glam metal, they weren't a glam metal band but they were Hard rock and their looks don't seem to be glam, just watch at Axl or slash styles and in the 90s they were the biggest band in the world with their Use your illusion albums then they self destroyed together and a new genre took over.
