Delia Smith's recipe is my go-to standard for lasagna. Took me 6 hours the first time I made it. Love the bolognese base and the bechamel sauce in that recipe. The US standard version with ricotta cheese is so sub-par compared to the UK version. Can't eat US lasagna at all.

I don’t know anything about American lasagna, because I actually followed a southern Italian recipe by an Italian grandma (link to her channel in the video description!) Northern Italy uses bechamel as does most of Europe, but I can’t stand bechamel sauce so I went with the South. Ricotta all the way! 🤤

It didn’t just look the best, it WAS the best! So worth the time. I made chicken arrabiata with penne the other day but didn’t enjoy the sauce (too sweet) nor the pasta as penne is my least favourite (but my kids only enjoy penne or fusilli 🙄), so then I used the leftover sauce 3 days later with bucatini and the sauce was amazing! The flavours that develop over a couple days is what makes any sauce sooo much better, right? First time trying the bucatini btw - wasn’t amazing, but it might not have been with the right sauce. I need to try it with a bolognese sauce, then I’ll know if it’s for me or not. Keep getting better and stronger my lovely 😘💕

Hello. I love the way this turned out. Mine falls and runs everywhere. I do have a question. I have watched the lovely meals you eat, but don't you ever need water tea or something to drink? I guess it's just me but I always have to drink atleast water. I'm afraid I will choke I guess. Love your accent and soft voice. 😍 makes me think of a beautiful tea cup with hot tea. Or purple flowers.

I always have a drink with my meal in case it’s salty, usually iced water or a Pepsi max, but I rarely need to sip during the meal, it’s usually at the end. I think the difference between some people is how much they salivate and I definitely salivate a lot

I don’t know about American but I do know using ricotta is a southern Italy thing. Bechamel white sauce is a northern Italy thing and I think much of Europe. I don’t enjoy bechamel at all which is why I rarely even eat lasagna but I’ll have lasagna with ricotta any day! 😂
