I've used the same exact concoction, and have gotten the same results. The coins literally come out looking brand new. It really is amazing. I clean all my non key date, 1959 - pre 1983, 95% copper pennies this way. Works on the 1983 and up copper plated zinc pennies just as well, all modern pocket change, or clad, as your title suggest. Quarters, nickels, dimes, & pennies. (DO NOT) clean your old, and or rare/collectable coins this way. I'm pretty sure you will de-value them using this method, non abrasive is the way to go on valuable, and collectible coins. With that said, If I had one worth grading, I would let a professional clean it. If you are lucky enough to find a coin of substantial value, I'm talking collectible because of its rarity, insure that it never tumbles again. Also keep the pre 1965 quarters, and dimes out of the tumbler as well. Great video, thank you for sharing.

I have the same tumbler. I cannot use both barrels at the same time. The bottom of barrels expand outward and makes a Pinching effect and jams up and stops spinning. So I run one barrel at a time. The pressure inside expands and I agave to check at least every half hour 0r the nut will come loose and the lid expands off from the pressure. Do you have this problem?

Great video! I gave this a try today and it worked quite well. My coins came out much cleaner than when they went in. However, they almost look a little 'too done.' They are clean but dull with no shine, any thoughts? Maybe I added too much of one of the ingredients? Suggestions?
@soupc111
@soupc111 7 жыл бұрын
It may be the results of the salt and Vinegar. Those two makes the coins dull, so it may be a little too much of both or one or the other. My guess it's the salt. Thanks so much for watching the video. It means a lot to me.

How long were those coins in the ground, my guess, not long. Come on man, dimes and nickels look rusted some times! Even quarters! Those look like coins that were simply thown in the mud. I would have loved to see a quick sink cleaning first... my guess is they would look the sake. Just saying.

WRONG ! Never strain this stuff through and kitchen strainer designed for pasta . Gravel WILL drop through and eventually clog your drain . Use a classifier designed for prospecting and set it on top of a 5 gallon bucket and strain it that way . Then dumb that leftover water and crap outside
