I may not repair shoes but the idea of using styrofoam, gasoline and also the binding method with paper n tape around the shoe is something worth to know maybe useful somewhere else. Thanks a lot....

The only issue raised here should be, burning strefoam releasing (possibly) poisonous gases. Just a thought, perhaps all surfaces to be glued/bonded together should be pre-warmed for stronger bonding.

Ветеран-сапожник?)) Занимался ремонтом обуви в молодости, в 90-е, был свой ларёк, пока братки не "попросили" процент. За отказ, сказали прямо, что сожгут ларёк. Платить не хотел, поэтому закрылся. Так вот, раньше, были хорошие марки недорого обувного клея "Дисмакол", "Наирит", в крайнем случае "88-й". Перед тем как клеить, всё хорошо зачищаешь, обезжириваешь растворителем или ацетоном, наносишь клей на обе поверхности, даёшь высохнуть, нагреваешь феном и клеишь, но на колодке или в крайнем случае на лапке, и не надо было никаким скотчем перематывать, клиент сразу уходил в своей обуви. Не знаю зачем мудрить с пенопластом, бензином... Может, нет возможности приобрести материал для ремонта, а иначе как объяснить?

После учёбы в Штутгарте работа у частника в Германии ( 6 1/2 лет ) по технологии ортопедической обуви ( ! ) в качестве подмастерья . В хорошей паре обуви более 200 деталей и производится более 250 технологических операций ( с переходами ) . Мастер вместе со мной мог изготовить только 4 пары в неделю ( от обмера , снятия слепка , изготовления колодки , подгонки анатомической стельки с выкладкой продольного и поперечного сводов , моделирования , раскроя , заготовки , затяжки , прошивки , набора подошвы , примерки , врачебной приёмки и до выдачи пациенту . Всегда смешно видеть " кустарщину " на конфессионной обуви ( картонные простельки , незакеплённый супинатор / иногда деревянный / , отсутствие промежуточного и ( или ) основного подклада , гвозди вбитые в полиуритан , отсутствие задников и подносков ( не говоря уж о соеденительных мостков меж ними ) . Обувь на один сезон ! Я свои уже 20 - 30 лет ношу . Таких уж больше не сделать . А о клеях " G P supercontakt " и " A G O " можно только мечтать со слезми . И о коже и других материалах ( NORA - LUNASOFT , VIBRAM , MULTYFLEX ) . Это не магические заклинания , а названия группы полимеров , дуромеров , сополимеров , пробковых соединений на основе латексных добавок ( для польстерного смягчения ) . Да всего не перечислишь ... Когда кому - нибудь обо всём расскажешь , то слушают как пришельца из других миров , уже и себе не веришь .
