I love my handyman, it's just the right size to keep in a pocket. Tip: wear it with a short belt clip chain so that it actually hangs vertically in the pocket instead of sliding to the bottom. Additionally, the belt clip can be attached to the belt behind the side belt loop of the pants, thus making sure that the SAK is always at the very side of the pocket. That way it can nicely share one pocket with the cellphone, it stays in a fixed position in the pocket.

The "wire stripper" on the flathead works better when the main blade is much closer to the flathead. You open the main blade, put the flathead at the half stop. Place a wire against that notch and gently lower the main blade down on it. You turn the knife until you've cut through the wire jacket, then put the blade away, hold your thumb against the wire and the notch and pull. Unless you have the scissors lol. I love my handyman. I carry it daily. I put plus scales on so I have the micro screwdriver in the corkscrew, the pin and a pen. The handyman and a flashlight are my 2 most used edc items at work

That's one I might have to add to my collection 🤔 Once you start getting into the 5,6,7 layer knives I almost want to sheath carry them. I put off buying a SwissChamp just because of that reason but I saw a horizontal sheath made by Hide & Drink on another KZbin channel and thought that would work so I bit the bullet and bought a SwissChamp and that sheath and it's a win win 👍 Now after carrying the SwissChamp I'm really loving it, so handy. But ultimately my addiction to pointy things 😂 will raise it's ugly head and I'll need to feed it and buy another so this may be on the radar. Thanks for posting!

I just got one of these, love it so far. Im putting it to the test with some repairs around the house. The pliers has a wire crimper, the wire stripper is in the can opener theoretically. I recently learned and tested the can opener works as a #2 phylups screw driver in a pinch. I am also doing a minor modification to add a small screw driver to the cork screw, a pin and a pen. All i have to do is get new sides on it.

I feel the same way about 6 layers being the max for comfortable pocket carry. Anymore, I have gravitated towards primarily carrying 2 or 3 layer saks. I edc’ed a swiss champ for years and slowly realized it was too big and had many tools I simply never used.

@@sakisrose4632 I understand, but I don't think it is advisable to use the can opener when a lot of torque must be used, and the saw, I estimate without being certain, should have a degree of hardness (due to the heat treatment) that takes away flexibility, potentially breaking... I think that the handyman was not intended to be used regularly with phillips screws, only sporadically and with some risks.

Very little difference in the Handyman and the Champ size wise ....I carry the champ daily on a Victorinox belt hanger so that it floats in my pocket more or less but in hindsight the Handyman would have been a equal if not better choice for my edc needs. The price is also better.

@@tguyhasham727 Handyman looks like a nice knife, I have no hands on experience with one so I can’t say that it’s inferior to the Champ. I do wish that the HM had the straight Phillips head screw driver, I use mine often. The magnifying glass on mine is not of much use to me . I still think that they look to be so similar that I can’t see the need to trash one over the other, just go with what you have. I have pondered getting a Handyman, but in the end decided against it as it is not so pocket friendly. So my thinking is that if this will be something to carry in a backpack, then I might as well get the longer tool implements (file and saw) from a 111mm Workchamp. It also adds two very nifty inline philips drivers which is great. The Ranger is about the limit for me size wise for a pocket EDC
