You Uncle is spot on. I manage a warehouse & have to deal with many truck drivers daily. The come in & want you to read the notes on their phones, instead of telling you what they are there for. They, LITERALLY, cannot speak English. There is a section in the handbook to get a CDL that states they "must read and speak English".... I have that framed on my desk. The guys that work around me love it that I simply will NOT look at their phones. I hold mine up & say "I have my own, I don't need to look at yours". If they can't tell me what they are there for, I tell them "Get out" point-blank. I have had dispatchers & brokers calling me complaining about the way I treat their drivers. I tell them "If your driver could speak English you & I would not be talking right now." When a friend of mine went in to get his CDL he saw 2 guys sitting together taking the test. He asked the woman at the counter what was going on "That is his interpreter." My friend said "So how do you know he isn't the one taking the test?"She said she didn't but there wasn't anything she could do. He told her "You ARE THE ONE WHO CAN DO SOMETHING, but you WON"T".

My dad, along with all his brothers and a sister, served in the US Military and was stationed at the sea during the Gulf War. We were issued Social Security cards when we stayed with him at the naval base when they got stationed to Japan. Then they got stationed back to the US, and we, their family, didn't just get a pass to move to the US with him. We still had to be separated from him for years and get petitioned to get residents' visas before moving here and waited another 5 years before we can apply for US citizenship. If US Military children and spouse have to do it that way, why is it okay for some people to just cross the border freely with benefits? Or for some illegals to commit crimes and not be deported? We too had to be separated from our father while he files the legal documents for his children to be able to live here. But it isn't okay if families get separated because they chose to take the illegal way?

I just happen to be a truck driver also and speaking of illegal truck drivers. I just saw this video yesterday of this Mexican truck driver who was following too closely to a family in a car and was driving too fast while not paying attention and when it comes time for him to slam on the brakes, he slammed the right into the car, crushing the car killing two people in the backseat. I see more foreign truck drivers on the road that can’t speak English and can’t drive safely according to the DOT. I have many of them cut me off when they are supposed to be at a certain following distance. They constantly violate my cushion of space that I am trying to keep while I’m on the highway.

Some of the 9/11 terrorists came in on student visas and stayed past their visa expiration dates. Other countries like Australia deport people who overstay their visa end date. We do a lousy job as a nation holding people to their visa termination dates.

I'm currently in Honduras to visit my husband and finish up his visa. They would not let me onto the plane until I had proof of my return flight. So, to me, it's funny how we're expected to live to a different standard or be called racist. Also, most people from here pay a policeman to get their drivers license. Very few have ever taken any test for it. Also, they're not required to have any insurance. They're also only required to go to school until 6th grade. Most of the kids that finish high school and college are either exceptionally bright or have parents from "richer" families.
