The village adapted for its ageing population - BBC News

Pescueza in Extremadura, western Spain, is adapting to provide for the needs of its older population through a non-profit project called Stay With Us.
It aims to provide elderly residents, who make up two thirds of its population, with the services they need in the hope they can remain independent. Could this pensioner-friendly village be the future?

This would be a fabulous idea for every person to prepare a place for the elderly where they could find solace and understanding when they really need to be understood and cared. Thanking you for this wonderful video which will make people aware of this necessity and begin to work on it for them who have really toiled in their lives and now at this age need help and consolation.

In a normal society the elderly would be taken care of by their children. Sadly the family unit has been destroyed in the west.

Its nice when people with Empathy and respect step up. Bravo Spain. I really doubt I'll make it past 71 if that. And that even seems like too long. 98-110 yrs no way. I know, think of all the other human achievements you'll be able to witness. But then I think of Will Overton from Texas he was like 114 or something, all of his family gone, the only excitement he got was being a novel oddity because of his age and counterintuitive lifestyle the last couple years. I'm definitely not cut out for that. Give me 69yr and let me pass peacefully in my sleep. 44 now only 25 yrs to go, yea.

yes as we learnt from our parents mistakes I do hope the younger generation does learn from our mistakes. The problem is there is a lot of blaming about mistakes made and not a lot of action from the younger generations in trying to fix them... as I said the younger generation are all talk no action.
