Hi guys. This randomly came up on my main page. I work there. I was the woman running the Caterpillar ride. Lovely to have met you guys. To let you know, the operators bring the canopy over by hand. We have a wheel in our booth that we turn and it brings it over and we turn it back the other way to take it off. Glad you had a fantastic time. Brilliant vlog!

What a fantastic vlog as always, I remember those Speedways (arks) years back, all the hard boys would be stood up, or sat on those metal bars, next to the bikes, and those speedways used to go really fast. Also they used to have Caterpillars at Battersea park fun fair, and I’m sure at the Kursaal in Southend too, take care 😀

Hi David Great Vlog! Love the vintage rides The Skid ride is a vintage ride here in America I’ve seen it called the Whip! Also there is a caterpillar ride at an amusement park close by to me been on it many times from childhood

They're different a whip is a long oval with tight corners and a skid is a circle with a pedal

As a child I used to ride the speedway with my late father at an amusement park called bellevue it had many old school rides including the caterpillar wish I could turn back time fond memories cheers boys for vlog

Old skool, am sure the Cyclone, used to be called, The Scramblers, might be wrong. When my mum and dad took my fairs, i remember the speedway feeling an intense ride. Good to see some different rides, from back in the day. Also, Dave, how was the fair rides, powerd, am guessing electric? Would look cool, if they would had some artificial grass, for aesthetic looks 😉 good vlog lade. Btw you should Conner on more rides 😆👍

OMG that one called Caterpillar, i saw it only once ever back in the early to mid 80s at the fair in Dade County, Miami Florida . Never went on it but never forgot seeing the riders being covered. Thought it was just another Himalaya ride. Cool to see that again!

Great bunch of rides only one thing missing to give it the funfair feeling you need music but besides that excellent I Will have to visit and I will sometime next year rather this year. I don’t know whether I misheard you you said there’s only three skids in the country left there is a lot more than that. I used to work on one back in the day for Pat Collins, funfairs for Anthony Harris. Lightning skid absolutely great machine. but anyway, they are definitely more than three left travelling funfair skids once again, great video really enjoyed 10 out of 10. Thank you😊

Hi Dave when u wentto Oxford St Giles with all your friends I cannot belive that conner did not like the big rides only the frogs and Dodgems he went all the way there just for 2 rides omg really as u say it is quite cheap there in the morning or Afternoon at least u had great fun I know the weather was hot and loads of people there xxxx.so plz give me 1 reply.

I think the reason you didn't spin on the Waltzer is because you sat right in the middle right on the centre of gravity. If you sat to one side, I bet you would have spun more than the 2 up seats.

Wow, what a great place, I've been away for 2 weeks so great to get back on the slothy action! Awesome rides: Eli Bridge Twist, Savages Gallopers, not sure who made that Carusel thing? Possibly Orton & Spooner or Lang Wheels? Not sure what model of dodgems they are, they are not old, made to look "old", track is Supercar, Lakin Skid, Hayes Fabrications Ghost Train, not sure who made the Chair-o-Plane? ether a Maxwell or an Orton & Spooner Caterpiller? Speedway is Lakin one I think? Maxwell Waltzer, Ether Lang Wheels or Maxwell Jets? I'm a bit rusty today lol, great vlog from the sloths!

When folly farm first opened all the rides was 50p but when they put some rides up to a £1 they got a lot of bad reviews so I wonder if this is why the rides are still cheap.
