What’s your favourite vintage sub homage?

Mine is the Invicta 1953. They hit an absolute home run with that watch. It's the closest looking homage to the original Submariner I've ever seen. Way more accurate than this San Martin.

@@sinjinadams2862 That's a great shout! Love the look of that but I've not experienced one first-hand. I just wish they went with a sapphire crystal instead of a mineral crystal.

I put mine on a classic Bond NATO. I can't see it on anything else. The bracelet is so cool with the rivets and great finishing

I have one, i spec'd pencil hands instead of the Mercedes hand, it is such a comfortable watch to wear it has become my daily watch, perfect size for the smaller wrist, everything about it is well done......one caveat, the bracelet is difficult to adjust, i had one stuck screw that i never could loosen, so it meant much removing of more links, swapping them in and out and using the full micro adjust......i talked with San Martin, they were very nice, and apparently i was unlucky and it was a isolated incident, and it certainly has not spoiled my enjoyment of the watch.

I feel you about the bracelet, it was a nightmare trying to resize it. I ended up cutting my fingers because one of the 2 tiny screwdrivers slipped. Everything else about the watch is excellent though, as is their customer service. I've had nothing but great experience dealing with San Martin. Definitely not my last watch from them! 🙂

I enjoy my brand new SN004-G V3 (369 dial), it was saturday in the mail. The watch came with the hex-Logo on the crown and the Epson YN55a movt. runs -3 sec. out of the ugly cylinder.

Many watches have come and gone in my small collection but this one is staying. A superb homage to the bond Rolex that you can pull off due to the scarcity and price of the original. Mine has a slight manufacturing flaw where the bracelet meets the lug but only noticeable up close. San Martin have upgraded it recently but in doing so have lost a bit of the V1/V2 charm.

Good choice sticking with this. I went through the same experience. I usually fall out of love with homage watches after the initial 2-3 month honeymoon period, but this one surprisingly lasted me for over 1 year! Hope you enjoy it for many more years to come.

It's a nice looking watch but they make two glaring mistakes both dealing with the bezel. First, it should be made of aluminum not ceramic. Second, there should be no hash marks on the bezel between 0 and 15. If they would fix this, it would really be a nice watch and I would consider buying it.

Completely onboard with the aluminium bezel insert. That would have suited this watch much more than the shiny ceramic.

I have the Steinhart Ocean One 39. The quality on that is off the chart for the price.

I have two Steinharts and have had the SM aswell. There are pro's and con's to both but the Steinhart has a better movement and the a thinner clasp which I prefer and it's not a one to one ''homage'' The SM has a better finished case I want to think and slightly better made dial with better lume. That being said I would prefer the Steinhart overall. I just didn't loose the love for it as quick as I did with the SM. Thanks

@@WatcheswithGeorge I was/am unhappy about the longevity of the lume on my Steinhart. However that is common with the 'old radium' material used.

@@WristWatching I have the Ocean One 39, black dial and black bezel and I recently purchased the Steve McQueen version also the 39, both bought brand new. Very similar but both different watches and if I ever decided to slim down the collection these would stay 100 percent. All the best and keep it up!
