I like the clarity in your tutorial in general, but I am puzzled about the stitch count! You are saying that the first 'sc ch 1' of the row counts as a stitch, but then you are slip stitching into the first hdc, then how are you keeping your st count? Doesn't that make the count 9 instead of 10 at the end of the row, and consequently, you will get 18 stitches at the end of the 2nd row!
@fibra.collectiveАй бұрын
Hi! Good question. So the “sc ch 1” does count as a stitch and it is the first stitch of the row. You are right in that it feels weird that u skip it in the beginning, and it feels like a “missed” stitch. However, that is the stitch you go into at the end of the round, therefore it is not skipped. I hope that makes sense☺️. Have you tried it yet?

Super good question! I'll start by saying, I did not come up with the technique - I actually learned it from this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXaxq5uDfdFrgq8 But in doing it I find that bringing the loop to the back of the work kind of "flattens" it in the very first stitch, making it a more "seamless" looking circle :).
