People who steal for hundreds of dollars don't do it because they are hungry. When you are hungry, you steal only food, because you don't want to go to jail. Also, you need to immediately find food. If you steal a coffee machine for a thousand dollars, it will take months before you get the money.

President Sunday probably thinks that security will offset the damage done by theft. This doesn't need to be the case. Security can easily cost more than the damage. Security doesn't only consist of security officer. You also have cameras, magnets and scanners. Furthermore the number of guests can.change for various reasons.

If shop lifters are so dangerous that you can't approach them, you should certainly get rid of it. If shop lifters put people's lives in danger, they need to be stopped. What are these people on???

There's Never an excuse to steal. Property is a human right. Negative rights are human rights positive rights are oxymoronic. Therefore, your hunger, which is not a violation of your rights cannot Override the property rights of the individual owners of the store and corporation. I don't care if calling the cops will delay the person for 5 seconds, and because of those 5 they literally die of hunger. They don't get to steal. Rights are absolute unless you're rights are violated first; and even then only the initiator of the rights violation. It's simple moral calculus. Your hunger is morally neutral. Stealing someone's property is evil and violates rights. The victim is clearly the person who Suffers more.

I reject this. I wouldn't if food companies wouldn't LOCK THEIR DUMPSTERS and refuse to donate past sell by date food due to "liability." Fuck that. Hunger induces desperation. People will do whatever it takes to eat. If they really cared, they'd put a sign on their dumpsters voiding all liability if you take from there, and this arguement would be void. I utilize food banks too btw, but they don't provide everything, and jobs aren't even responding, so my choices were thus: double scan food and pay less, kind of black hat hacking the stores self checkout or eat eggs and fish sticks (nothing else) for weeks on end, leading to potential malnutrition. That being said, food is one thing. Shoplifting luxary goods is absolutely indefensable.

The employees of a shop have the duty to stop shoplifters. That's part of their contract. They don't need to attack the person but they need to report him.

I was shopping in Glasgow today! 3 Asian girls ran out of a shop with pairs of trainers in their hands. They almost knocked me over and one shoplifter fell on her face but didn't let this put her off she got back on her feet and ran off with her friends. Is this okay...NO.

Hey Whick, idk if this was intentional or not to help panelists speak out over the group. Could you please have everyone on the panel balance out their microphones to the same level before the start of your shows? I can understand it is not the easiest thing to do, but I believe your content would suck less if you I could hear a panelists finish their point before being cut off by someones else's screwy microphone
