@@MrJoey478 I went with 2 Vega pro 10s in a sealed box. Powerd by a 5x1 kenwood amp that does a fine job. All the mids were replaced with diamond audio. Sounds clean and powerful, bass hits hard enough for me.

One Bad Ass Sub! Had (2) Sundown Audio X8v3 subs and replaced them with one (1) of these 15" Cerwin-Vega Vmaxx subs and it's UNBELIEVABLE! 146.7DB @32hz!

After listening to this guy, I'm reminded that 4 yrs ago I had a pair of Diamond audio D9 15s. And had a question about the rms rating. They were 800 rms. And I was putting 3k to them and they laughed at that amount of power. But from the smart, smarmy ass answer I got on the phone that day. I'm sure it was this guy that answered 🙄

Just bought one of these d2 12's ill be putting into a 1980's wood grain cerwinvega sb 12b subwoofer box.... this sub is absolutely amazing, i haven't even used it yet, BUT I HAVE TO SAY, it looks pretty much as good as a sundown x 12.... for the money, you literally cannot beat this.... everything about it is damn perfect... people are foolish for not regonizing these babies... they deserve as much attention as sundown or orion gets... the only thing i see contradicting specs, i see 1000 rms listed at some places and 850 at others.... ill just assume 850...

What’s a corvette z7? Maybe I need to pull my bullshit card on him! Xmax has nothing to do with power handling really you could have a sub that moves 5 inches only handles couple hundred watts. And drag cars use bead lockers is what your looking for!

It actually does to an extent, the more air you move, the more air will get though to the voice coil that is if the basket and vc former is designed correctly, observe the under spider venting it has or the magnet vented pole piece it has, sure you could put the same voice coil inside a sub with only 5mm of xmax, but even with it being a 3" black coated coil with internal air channels within the aluminum former, it will not move enough air to handle it rated power handling, now the same could be said with your example, if the voice coils wire gauge isn't thick enough and the basket isn't designed for maximum air flow as well as the former not using a highly thermal conductive material like aluminum, even with a lot of x max and a very compliant suapension that doesn't take a lot of power to meet the x max you state, it still might not be able to handle all the heat and power even with a lot of perfect air flow, when designing a sub every perameter matters,.... x max, suspension compliance and the way the basket is designed all also influence power handling, the coil and the material of the coils wire as well as the material the former is made out of and the voice coil size and the winding shape and coating isn't the only prerequisite for power handling, so yes, xmax does matter to a degree when it comes to a sub, just as the very design of the basket and soft parts, it all matters, finding a balance is key, especially at a price point, these woofers hit the mark....
