I think there's something in the dynamic of the members of Queen which lends a certain grace and campness to the performances which is not easy to emulate, plus unless a singer is unusually blessed in a very similar way to Freddie Mercury, the vocal performances are always going to fall short.. when compared. Its not to say other people shouldn't perform the songs - they are fab, feel-good songs - but you can't compare because it's not like with like..
