Here's my issue with people hating on Ingrid for being racist. I get that Ingrid was mean to our boi Dedue, but she quickly learns that her way of thinking is wrong (literally in support B). The thing is that she was taught throughout her life to hate everyone from Duscur, and after Glenn died in Duscur, it's natural she would feel that way towards them. It's not her fault for being raised in an environment that ingrained that prejudice into her head. Rather than focusing on her racism, I feel that people should be focusing on the fact that she has the courage to legitimately question all that she's been taught and change her world view.

Is it just me or she even kinda looks like Ingrid? Anyway, amazing interview as aways, Ghast! And once again, a big thank you to the VAs for being so kind to the community! Brittany Cox officially entered the already crowded team of awesome Fire Emblem VAs, not only for their perfect work in the game, but also for joining the community for all the love and memes! Also, could we hope for a character analysis about Ingrid? Blue Lions seems to be the preferred route among veteran Fire Emblem players, and I heard a lot of people express their love for characters like Felix, Ashe, Mercedes and of course Dimitri, but I rarely see people talk about Ingrid. She and Annette are my favorite Blue Lions characters by far, and it seems a detailed look at Ingrid's character could gather her more fans!

You have good taste ;) I’ve heard some critics thrown towards Ingrid a lot, people think her VA sounds too scripted and due to her coming off kind of one note in all of her C supports (much like %80 of characters) people generally dislike her. The racism memes pre launch didn’t help either. imo Brittany did a great job, creating an awkward but authoritative tone that fits her character perfectly, she really shines when she gets put on the spot by other characters, like the ending of her and Dorothea’s paralogue. Ingrid’s the closest there is to a “Catria” in 3H and I think she’s a great addition to the cast.

I love these interviews so much. When a voice actor becomes recognizable, you'll probably take note of their name, and maybe find an image of their face somewhere, but hearing these people express themselves outside of their acting roles gives much such a different appreciation for these people. That's when you really start to understand who these people are and it's really wonderful, honestly! With every one of these interviews I get this same sensation. I'm still not totally sure what it is, but I really enjoy Ingrid's character, she's a personal favourite for me, so it's exciting to learn about the woman behind the voice of the character I've come to like so much. And it's especially amazing finding out how much she fits her role personality-wise, like it was almost made for her. The voice direction for Three Houses did such a good job at that all around, really, and then the actors just make it all come together.

Man ever since echoes, I’m so damn happy we get fully voiced characters. It makes the characters more identifiable and it’s great to get the VAs involved in the community. Tbh the thing I’m most excited about for any future remakes is getting a whole new VA cast. Nice to see the person behind best girl is just like her too. Though 1, 2 Switch will never be the same again. The stuff with Ingrid being racist really annoys me. PoR Jill has a similar arc, yet because it isn’t locked behind a support conversation (though Lethe’s does help) people praise her for being a side character with proper character development. (FYI, I absolutely love Jill too, but it’s just annoying to see people pan one character and praise another one for the same thing.)

I think the backlash came from her inexperience of voice acting and being flat. But I disagree, Brittany did an amazing job for Ingrid. She does have a particular way of speaking that is very memorable, this could be due to that same inexperience. There is a charm about Brittany and Ingrid being similar. She is one of my favourites. Honestly, Ingrid never sounded flat to me. I thought Brittney did a great job of portraying her calm and serious nature without going into flat territory. Plus, she injected emotion when it was most appropriate.

I don’t see any merit to any sort of backlash at all. Ingrid was my favorite female voice in 3H. She sounded the most realistic out of all the girls in the game in my opinion. She sounds like someone you would actually meet in real life. Call it inexperience but it is makes it that much more authentic relatable and less of a stereotypical “anime” girl voice which I think we need right now as far as dubs are concerned.

I don't usually comment on videos but I have to say I am loving all the interviews with the VAs Ghast. You were made for this content and this calling of interviewing people. You have an ease that makes the person you are interviewing enjoy the interview and I can tell it everytime you have interviewed one of the VAs. The interview themselves are not generic being you always have great and interesting questions per VA interviewed and it's been great seeing how each VA is different in their personality, their thoughts, etc. It's really admirable and I can't wait to see who else comes on. I'm here for all of them so thank you for the great interviews so far and to many more. :D
