- Solar is a Queen! She’s pretty perfect idol material: she’s beautiful, an amazing performer, and her voice is very distinctive. I would argue that she’s the best singer in the group for ballads. - Moonbyul is a very unique idol, in her appearance, voice, and artistry. Her voice is so warm and her distinctive rapping style is her main superpower. She’s a great storyteller with lyrics, and her being one of the most credited idols in songwriting speaks for itself. She’s the group’s beautiful brain. - Wheein is arguably one of the most talented k-pop idols, her vocal and dancing ability is so underrated. She’s probably got the most “pop” sound to her voice which makes her the main sound in their choruses, which makes it all the more amazing when she lets loose with her belts and riffs. - Hwasa, like Byul, is another incredibly unique idol. Her appearance, voice and artistry are so distinct from many other artists in her industry. It’s easy to forget how advanced as a vocalist she is, especially when her vocals have so many characteristics, they can be sweet, smoky and powerful with ease.

She gets overlooked as a singer since she's such a brilliant rapper, but there's no doubt she could be a featured singer in almost any other female group. A great, deep alto with the ability to capture your heart.

I think these seasonal associations with the girls make even more sense than their assigned seasons for the 4seasons project. Even Solar laughed in an interview and said she didn’t even know why she was fall and likes summer better. 😂 Also know we know what kind of element benders they would be in Avatar. *Im ready for the fanart.*

Right. Yellow Sun, Red Flower, and Blue Moon would made more sense. 😂

I just wanna say that I love these kinds of videos where it's a vocal appreciation rather than an analysis. I actually enjoy analysis videos but It's genuinely refreshing to see some some content that is positive instead of neutral (I haven't come across any negative analysis vids yet so 😳). Thank you so much for this ✨

This new series of videos is awesome, so refreshing ! I spend a lot of time watching videos about vocal technique but never about vocal styles and i gotta say it is even more interesting. You compare but never rank and rather value each characteristic of each artist. I would love this type of videos on other groups but also on solo artists !

I believe the elemental parts would be Solar: Fire - because of her powerful belts which makes me think of Fire and the Fire Nation Moonbyul: Earth - because of how deep her voice is, it reminds me of Earth Hwasa: Air - Air because of how she stylistically play with this part of her voice especially with her falsetto Wheein: Water - it's because I always see blue, the ocean or Neptune whenever I hear Wheein and her voice
@ronbo113 жыл бұрын
I can see it both ways, yours and Ain't No Other Fan's way. I guess I might lean a little bit more towards his in that when I hear Hwasa's voice I hear sultriness and heat which make it more Summery for me. Wheein's voice is so pure and innocent I can see it as crisp, fresh air. But it's close either way!

This is so cool! I actually agree, I would usually give solar fire, hwasa earth, moon water and wheein wind. It has just been the way I always described their voices and personalities as well, with the seasons to match; solar-summer, hwasa-spring, moon-winter and wheein-autumn. But I completely agree with this analysis since solely speaking of their voices makes a lot of sense! I love this new series!

Moonbyul's approach to rap is also unique because of the "effects" she adds, like growls, Michael Jackson-ish flourishes, etc. I think her ability to do those consistently/on-demand also demonstrates great awareness of her voice, and stands out in how there's a lot of flair and vocal control to her singing as well - like in Lunatic, Iljido, Absence, or in this interview (timestamped link): kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4SqY6SQj9R4pZosi=5zTXcbE2dMkimSkw&t=464 She also demonstrates great facial expressions in the interview which while not related to her singing, is relatively more common w/ rappers and makes her a well-rounded storyteller

Following this logic, 4season4colors would have been (I'm also adding a simple storyline following the philosophy portraied in Paint Me) Solar, Spring, Yellow Sun I mean, the connection is pretty straight forward... The beginning of a relationship, butterflies, flowers blooming, a sense of warmth, so i think the lyrics of Starry Night wouldn't match, but the title is...ok Hwasa, Summer, Red Flame If i'm not mistaken, Hwasa means "shining bright" so yeah Flames, burning passion, a blistering sun, the middle and the most crucial part of a relationship, so of course Egotistic wouldn't match at all, but as a b-side it would continue the storyline explaining how the relationship is coming to a bitter end. Moonbyul, Autumn, Blue Moon or Fall;ing Again, not that original but it falls into place too easily, Wind Flower is the PERFECT song, nothing has to change since BLUE;S is full of sad and/or melancholic songs, fit like a glove Wheein, White Wind is so fitting, honestly there's not much to add But the title track should be a little more peaceful, love is gone, but you feel ready for a new chapter of your life Even if winter is often used as a methafor for a difficult time of your life, in this case i would rather use it as a way to say that a new spring will come and that you should enjoy this peaceful time and take care of yourself I absolutely love the concept as it is and the methafor of seasons as something that will never stop and will start all over again (in many contexts, not only love, per say) and that nothing in life is temporary Thank you Mamamoo for this project💛❤💙🤍

I would just say if you are going to do videos like this you should give each vocalist the same, fair consideration. It's apparent you like Solar, Whee In, and MoonByul more, since their sections were longer, and had more information in them. I think there was so much of Hwa Sa's vocal textures, and information that you left out because imo you were not as interested in her as a vocalist. Question, are you a vocal coach? Or a professional singer?
@danielajm31842 жыл бұрын
I feel that he gave more emphasis and expands more on the voices of solar and wheein, while hwasa and moonbyul only said basic things and did not put much emphasis on their voices
@kimberly_neville2 жыл бұрын
@@danielajm3184 Do you mean in this video? Because to say Hwa Sa doesn't put much emphasis on her voice is a joke, and definitely wouldn't come out of the mouth of a true MooMoo. If you have seen their live performances, and listened to more then the few, overly recommended songs that ppl pass on, then you would NOT be able to say that statement with a straight face. On top of their own songs, their 14 Immortal Songs performances, especially "The Road to Sampo" (one of many which shows Hwa Sa's range beautifully), as well as her many solos, covers, ost's, and CF's, along with Mamamoo's extensive discography of over 250 songs. If you had listened to ALL of their music (which I have), AGAIN, there would be NO WAY you could make that statement with a straight face. Hwa Sa's range is Amazing! She can sing low, and in the low whisper tones, and her deep rich textures can be sexy and sultry, or they can be warm, and comforting. She can belt, hit high notes, do beautiful runs, as well as all of the other things that make people ooo and ahh over Solar, and Whee In. She can sing "clearer", as people call it, she has shown it, and when first coming into training, she use too. That doesn't mean, it was because she was "healthier", it's because she was still cultivating her style fully, and becoming more secure in who she in, and in HER SOUND. Something A LOT of singers never find.

@@kimberly_neville I think you misunderstood me or I wrote badly (my English is still not good), according to your comment you say that the Solar, Wheein and MoonByul sections were the longest and contained more information and that the analysis he made of hwasa was not fair I agree that the analysis was not fair, because according to him at the beginning he said that he did not know mamamoo and had to investigate to carry out this analysis, when obviously he did not investigate well, because he gave more importance to the voices of solar and wheein and he left aside the voices of hwasa and moonbyul. My point is that not only did he omit key information about hwasa, but he also omitted several key information about moonbyul ,He left out several clips of moonbyul where she shows her voice and singing (like love and hate, snow, eclipse, absence and more .....) I don't want to argue so here I leave it ...
