Its likley the towers were artifical constructs made in opposition of adamantine(theres a great reddit post about this and how snowthroat fell) 2) lorkahns "deceit" was a gift,the gift of failure allows for those on nirni to reach chim and even to reach amaranth, the goal of life its self and the eventuality of all things every kulpa,there is always a lorkahn and there is always amaranth,this is how the next kulpa happens. Thus we can infer from this that lorkahn does what he must and to the benefit of all reality. 3) the thalmor DO NOT consider khajit and dark elves and orcs as true mer, only those from old elnofey(alinor,what sunk) the mer who fought the wandering elnofey(men) if the fight of shor and arie-el. 4th only the dark elves are cursed the khajit cycle is a gift, indeed lorkahn influenced indeed but it was a gift to be able to better hold your home just like valenwoods green pact. 5) you do not want what the thalmor want, if you look at the monsters that the valenwood elfs turn into during the wild hunt,thats what you were before nirni made you one solid thing, the thalmor do not realize the gift they have they like the millenials where think there life sucks simply because they never experienced war lol

I figured that the moons disappeared when Alduin broke through into the fourth era. It was the side effect of time being warped due to the Elder Scroll being used to exile Alduin.

I do want to point out that one of the main points behind Morrowind is that the lore books aren't actually a reliable source, so for all we know, Nirn and Mundus do work just like planetary motion in reality, but since Nirn as a whole hasn't done more research on the matter, we don't know for sure.

Not sure if this is a video you've already done, but an overview of the Empire's emperors could be helpful. I've tried reading "A Brief History of the Empire" in Morrowind and I find it hard to keep track of the names. A video would be much easier to follow and would be more focused in 2E/3E

Personally I think it was the Thalmor. I don't think it had anything to do with manipulation of genes or anything like that though. My personal hypothesis is that the Thalmor used some form of magic- Daedric, illusion, etc- to get rid of the moons that way they could "bring them back" and look like heroes to the Khajiit. It makes perfect sense that the Thalmor would want the Khajiit on their side. It'd give them a very large boost to their armies and supply them with a large chunk of land from which they could organize attacks on the Empire. It just seems far too coincidental to me that the Thalmor didn't have a hand in the event that basically handed them Elswyr on a moonstone platter.

I think the Psijic thing is the most likely. They're the most powerful mages on Nirn, and as you pointed out, the timeline is fitting, so the Void Nights could've been a test run for what they did with their island in order to see if it would be safe for them.

The Thalmor may have caused the Void nights to see if Khajiit used to he elves solely for the purpose of "making them remember Aldmeris". Apparently this would cause them to want to willingly join the Dominion and take up the Thalmor's cause.

I've read that the moons are infinite planes and their shapes are the mind coping to understand. I have doubts a denizen of nirn could remove two planes of mundus simultaneously. Maybe there was some strife amongst deities followed by a dragon break "returning" them. Maybe its part of their cycles and the thalmor knew this and took advantage

Also about the first theory, while I also find it a bit hard to believe, another potential motive might be the altmers hatred of lorkhan. I remember reading somewhere that masser and secunda are the two parts of lorkhans body. So if we consider that piece of information, we could conclude that spiting lorkhan is another reason the high elves may want to make the moons disappear. That being said, the moons being lorkhans body may also serve as a counterpoint. Since lorkhan was an extremely powerful being, and one tied to the creation of Nirn at that, would it even be possible to make his body (if the moons really are his body) disappear ( through whatever means or trickery)? If so, would any number of mortals, even an entire race, be able to generate that sort of power (even with the help of the daedra, which I don’t think is likely, considering that the oblivion crisis just occurred)? I don’t think so personally, but the motive is definitely there between what I said in this comment and testing the possibility of a khajit to elf reversion (as you pointed out). Also great job on the video, I really love your content and style!

If the kahjiit have their "form" decided by the moons then the kahjiit born during those void nights would look like what? Or would the lack of the moon prevent the birth of kahjiit children (either by forced abortion or the kahjiit just being unable to go into labor or maybe the baby is born unhealthy and dies shortly after) Pretty dark topic, yes, but it would be interesting if in a future game to find a type of kahjiit that was born during the void nights (kinda like how the last dwemer makes an appearence in morrowind)

If you don't mind doing political videos as long as they are not 4th era, you could consider making a video about the political situation in Vvardenfell in the 3E 427, with the Empire, the Temple, and the Great Houses with their territories and attempts at expansion. I know it will be hard and time-consuming but it would make an amazing lore video in you channel.

I don't think it's that big of a deal, most likely someone used the staff of towers or something equal to the power of aurial's bow on the moons causing them to disappear like the last dragonborn does to the sun. It's also possible that the khajit pissed off Azura.

I don't know sounds like a prank Sheogorath would pull off for seemingly no reason at all.. For all we know the moon was there, but they just couldn't see them. Because it wasn't stated that there were many abnormal births as far as I know right? So perhaps all he did was cloak it until he got bored of it and turned elsewhere as he tends to do.. Sheogorath would do such things without even telling anymore or for any specific reasons but to mess around with a race or even a specific individual that annoyed him for whatever reason.. So for all we know a Khajiit somewhere has knowingly or unknowingly, pissed him off.. And in true Sheogorath fashion he went as far as hiding the moon to get at him or her.. If it were any other Daedra Lords there would likely be signs or other things happening beside that.. They are not doing really into doing things so random as Sheogorath would..

Lyg is like aldmeris, there’s no proof that Lyg even exists, whereas there’s proof the other continents exist despite not seeing them in game. Yokuda, Atmora, and Akavir both have their specific races that came from their lands and there were tamrielic people who have visited those lands before, whereas with Aldmeris, people tried to find aldmeris but just found a vast ocean where it was said to be. Lyg is no different, no races from Lyg came, no one from Tamriel ever recalls going there or anything substantial to prove it’s existence

Hey, I don’t know if you have a video detailing this (I don’t think you do, but I feel like you mentioned it in a previous video as a side point) but could you please do a video on mythopoeia and how beliefs actually influence the gods of the the ES universe. Would gods (aedra, daedra, magna-ge, etc) even exist if no one on nirn believed in them? I think it’s a really cool topic and it’s definitely not limited to the 4th era 🙃.

That's... not mythopoeia, despite popular opinion. Beliefs shaping gods is not a thing in TES. However, comparative religion in TES and the reasons for those differences is still a decent topic.

Doesn’t seem likely. It’s known all dragon kin are attributed to the will of Akatosh and the Dragonborn is one of them. The moons Masser and Secunda are said to have been the sundered body of Lorkhan after he’d been killed by Akatosh’s champion, Trinimac. It doesn’t seem likely Akatosh’s will could affect something attributed to Lorkhan, especially considering how creation happened, Lorkhan came before Akatosh therefore I don’t think his influence could be imposed on something attributed to Lorkhan. And yes even though Lorkhan died his spiritual essence persists, for example the heart of lorkhan is evidence that his spiritual essence lives on despite his physical death so the moons being another part is not too far fetched

Boethiah provided them with a Dremora Champion wielding Goldbrand, which aided Lord Naarifin in his attempts to achieve The Culling (A prophecy which would unleash hordes of Oblivion). Vaermina would have provided them with the Orb of Vaermina, which they used to spy on Imperial forces.

Suggestion: Dragon-break. I think this would put a new spin on to some of your other videos because to my understanding every game we play represents a Dragon-break and every possible thing the player can do actually happens and becomes lore. For example: In Skyrim the Emperor is both assassinated by the player and also isn’t and probably dies by other means. Also the concept of Chim would be another suggestion. Does Chim explain the player character experience? That he/she is controlled by an intelligence from somewhere else? That when they die they can jump to a previous time live that time again until they get it right? Deep stuff I know, but interesting. Love your work Zork. I’m a recent subscriber and just caught up. Thankyou for doing this.
