lets face it he brought a steam tank and that takes all of his chad points away. They are just auto win units. Their is no reliable counter to steam tanks. They are good in every single situation and downright busted in most situations.

I think the unit needs a weakness to compensate for the strengths instead of just a stat nerf. I would add a % more damage taken in the back. Also remove heals from lore of life and add a bound ability for engineers to heal it. That way if you want to keep the OP tanks as they are you need to pay more for an extra unit. Also lore of life healing mechanical units is dumb. If it still outperform then make it cost more or add more damage taken from the back.

it might not be a bad idea for Volkmar to take his Divine Power passive, +50% global miscast chance could really punish enemies that like spamming cheap spells

Come for the Volkmar, stay for the Hysh. I love to see Slaneesh cavalry/chariots or beasts being managed well, since I am bad at micro myself. Fiends particularly look dope too.

Gotta respect the hustle, but that army simply didn't have enough of a field presence. Tempelhof Luminark and Volley tank is 4000 points worth of missile chariots that don't do well against high quality melee stuff. I can't help but think that 6-7 Flagellants probably would have done more here, simply because they have good cap weight, don't rout and have decent damage output against unarmoured daemon infantry.

You can't bring that many flaggellants, and they are more vulnerable than state troops to blues and pinks. Best to go mass state troops, then rely on things like huntsmen, cavalry, stanks and FCM to dish out the punishment.

I would argue that losing the spears on the bloodletters and daemonettes so early is what lead to the overwhelm from the fiends. the origional build looked decent and fun but its potential was squandered when there was such a clear quality gap in the frontline clash. I think holding back a bit more with the spears while the chariots did some damage early would have softened up the clash and left enough strength in the spearmen to hold back the fiends

Volkmar competes with a tank commander too much to make him viable. He trades in a lot of combat prowess for those few support abilities and regeneration. I also noticed how little health he has. He really is a relic from WH2 and could do with a buff or two.

Volkmar needs some buffs i think, biggest issue is his damage output is Really bad. Having 245 damage is..i think might be lowest damage for a lord in the game now. Should be at least 400, volkmar is effectively useless in any duels or against any monsters. Stat increase wouldn't hurt either, honestly i think volkmar is even worst then Gelt. Every steam tank is about 2-3 times better then Volk

He's a chariot, chariots never have as much weapon damage as regular units.

@@Ravengagepvl and his damage is lower then every other lord using chariots, well actually same as elf wizard and norscan chariot wizard. For a legendary lord it's terrible, why in competitive play I've never once seen volkmar( TWW 2 he was)

He's more of a support unit, but yeah. It's also really bloody strange that putting him on his Volkswagen makings his stats so much worse. Like, he gains 15 BvI but loses 25 melee attack and 135 WS. I mean sure, he gets way more armour and health on his ride as well as fear and terror, but it's just weird that it makes him deal less damage.

Empire Player wasted several nets on Fiends without even shooting at them. You gotta micro in this game. Meanwhile the steam tank requires no skill. Its just way too strong in the hands of anyone.

I enjoy Turin's "after-match" theory-crafting. But this time he didn't say "what's the best Empire build against Demons of Chaos?" but instead, "how do we make a better Volkmar roster against Demons of Chaos?" ... In this game (spoiler) Volkmar ran out and the Empire got two objectives. Then the demons summoned (MVP) Fiends of Slaanesh and got a triple-cap by 6 minutes. Game over. I don't see Turin's after-match solution (spears with cavalry reinforcement, but no magic damage except from one Hero) being good against the Fiends or the Demonettes. Sorry. ... The Empire's MVP was the amazing Steam Tank (which is better than Burning Heads, as the Empire lost their tank-y units too early to get the enemy to bog-down in place for area-of-effect spells). I think the Empire's build was "Net and ranged attacks", and that would have been great against so many armies with giant bosses and flyers. Maybe fpod expected the enemy to use a different build? At the end of the game, fpod had a "death-ball" that could have cleared the map, but it was too late.

volkmar, warrior priest and the empire captain are not a viable choice or even use in game 3 because they are front line support characters and Empire infantry can't compete with other faction anymore even with buffs from these characters, which are ok at best or many are just piss poor ( looking at you " hold the line"), and they can only buffs 1 unit at a times because their radius are so small and compare to other factions army wide abilities it's not even a contest. The Empire playstyle right now is just skaven but good (poor skaven ), hordes of cannon fodder and road blocks for war machine and weapons team to do all the work , there are no place for frontline support characters with this winning condition. I love how both CA and GW both look at state troops in 8th edition and said yeah we turn them into clanrats at the same time, when wh3 was released Empire infantry was in a sad state but instead of making them better they just make them cheaper which now it's even harder to buffs such a wide army but at least they are still good as cannon fodder unlike in The Old World where GW make them cost the same as Gor herds but worse than Bretonnian men at arms. Nerfs steam tanks , landship , wagons all you want but at least make state troops, flagelants, greatsword, Demigryphs what they are meant to be , rework the Captain like in the campaign where he can have either infantry or cavalry map wide buffs or make all of the support buffs army wide like waaagh of greenskin.

Fiends are very squishy so they can be dealt with with a little dedication whereas th tank is almost unkillable if it isn't blundered

I think they have something like 20 armor? These fiends weren't being ran into spears or gunfire that's why they performed so well. Nothing is scarier than slaanesh units if they aren't focused by their counters. That being reduced mobility and concentrated fire. If he had some units ready each time those Fiends got netted they should have instantly died. I counted 3 or 4 nets with absolutely no prepared follow up.

Well fiends are basically anti large glass cannons which means you can deal with them in the late game even if your units with mass have been destroyed. However when you don't have something with high mass and speed remaining to deal with the steam tank in the late game(which is quite frequent when you are against the empire) the steam tank will just plow through infinite amounts of infatry and you just lose the game

This is just a really inane comment. A unit being good doesn't make it OP? They aren't OP cuz they can be killed easilly and have plenty of counters. the steam tank is extremelly hard to kill does ridiculous damage to any target that isn't a flyer. I don't even see you making a point here. You just say "If one unit is overpowered why is this other unit not overpowered." How is that even a statement?

the empire had really poor answers against them. Not enough screening infantry and no huntsman or long rifles at all is a choice for sure. 2 huntsmen and a single target net is enough to completely wipe out a fiend. Slaanesh units make their bread on being allowed to rampage so uncontested.

The tank and Luminark were both expensive vulnerable pieces that get countered by the same unit. Which is exactly what the Daemons did, they used fiends to counter both pieces and also the Volkswagon while the Empire didn't have anything effective to counter the fiends.
