I bought this synth and was unpleasantly shocked by how numb it sounded out of the box, but after feeding through my fuzzmatic chromalyzer and dual twizzlefisters, its hands down the best synthesiser I have ever, ever seen. I am selling all my other gear once I get the semiclak button upgrade. You guys are just a bunch of naysayers, always bashing new gear instead of embracing this amazing new technology.

I thought the Donner B1 with its black on dark grey lettering was a bad design decision. But shiny white on matte white takes the cake. Besides the Donner was $150 and contains analog circuitry so at that price I can learn where things are. This is a synth to be ogled not played

I have zero problem with people buying this. They were the one born their minute and if Vongon did not take their money away someone else would. The design and aesthetic make it unique which is no easy feat for a synth. Some will find it compelling primarily for that reason as the specs and interface are purposely minimalistic (part of the design choice and not necessarily a bad thing) so nothing really to get excited about there. My pure conjecture guess is they are into this maybe $180/unit for a production run of 1000. With stockists getting $225 or more each unit could generate as much as $500 in revenue. Sell all 1000 and you cover the annual fully burdened labor cost of maybe 2 engineer "types" in the bay area where they are. Time will tell if this was a smart move or if they should have stuck with boutique pedals.

@@synthsamuraiproductions we are dishonest with ourselves if not admitting design & aesthetics count for something. Their pedals, and many boutique brands, are dead sexy looking. Sorry for being a broken record on this, but an iPad + audio interface + control surface (BSPro, midifighter twister etc.) + a few effects apps is the same price as 2 of their pedals. Multiple lanes of multiple effects of your choice mapped to knobs easily and however you want. At the same time just having "kit" can be a significant part of the fun of the hobby so yeah, not nearly as sexy...

It is sonically very reminiscent of what Coupled harmonic oscillators produce in and additive situation or even fm…. It might be that they used a reverse loop of an arp and cranked it way up in rate and pitch without losing fidelity … which sounds easy but microsound, wether it’s granular, spectral, or done on a smoothed spectral suite, or is using kyma7 And a combination of synthesis types… it could be scanned… or a good rossum synth where aliasing and phasing are controllable. But I watch Sarah Belle Reid who I consider a very very gifted sound designer amongst my peers she’s admired as well so she turned a it into a deity when she touched it, because you can place a few people in the room with a synth and walk out with immersive ambisonic pieces done rapidly ….she has mastered modulation synthesis to the nth degree. I don’t think she backs things she doesn’t believe in either… but absent the feedback loop with effect it’s gotta be somewhat capable… but if it doesn’t have variable waveforms, without shifting etc, no cv out….. I don’t know its price but go get a tasty chips mega or at the very least and iridium…. The haptic and kinesthetic element is important but this company is playing on gen x nostalgia which is the murder of raw creative energy

I was worried when I saw the title of this video, but you knocked it outta the park 😂. What are they thinking? It sounds nothing like my PolySix or my cousins Juno 6! 900 bucks? In Bell Ends video the pedals are doing all the heavy lifting. I notice that all of the shil... I mean reviewers have neen given the pedals to make it sound better. On its own, it sounds like a VST. I'd rather listen to Vogon Poetry! And the white-on-white text... that's just plain stupid. The Yamaha SeqTrak has so much more to offer for 500 bucks less. I imagine the TE OP1 field crowd will love it, but it's not for real synthesists. And I'm sorry, but Oora has just pinched the lead in the beard stakes brother. This was refreshing to see. I really don't want to be a hater. I'm sure many people worked hard on this synth and I wish them the best... BUT "Inspired by Roland Juno" yet it has no stereo chorus? Name something more Iconic to the Juno series than the famous Chorus 1 and 2 buttons. In fact as far as I know there is just a mono out? It's completely digital. Oscillators, filters and all, yet still only 6 voice poly, not the end of the world but still peculiar for the price. Every reviewer ran it through multiple pedals, mostly Vongon pedals during demonstration. Lot of money for all that. I think at $900 they could have at least included stereo chorus and/or reverb or something other than bare bones synth basics. I thought this was gonna be 3 or 4 hundred bucks. The Hydrasynth Explorer is 1000× more feature packed, litterally, and is STILL CHEAPER. I really don't get it. The aesthetic is kinda cool - I'll give it that 🤷‍♂️
