These videos are just sooo good! Im in my 30s now, used to play tournaments during school and uni, and back the it was so hard to learn theory; we were happy to get ahold of a chess magazine every now and then and that was it. Now you are providing such deep insights on so many openings; I m probably not playing any tournaments soon, but still very fun to watch. Thanks for the video and best regards from Chile.

Why would you put nohomo behind it? Seems so uncertain and actually makes me think you are gay.
@KA1blow8 жыл бұрын
If i was uncertain about my gender (somewhat gay), you think i would put Nohomo after it.. ? I was just saying that I loved him like a kid loves his teacher, or like a friend loves his friend.. but in English the meaning of love is somewhat too deep.. idk why
@rRunner2668 жыл бұрын
I don't really understand your first sentence, what does gender have to do with sexuality? No it isn't, you are afraid of how people will interpret the word love, thats why I say you seem uncertain. Besides that, I don't think anyone will interpret it as the "deep" meaning, except the trolls but that's just what they are trolls for :).
@KA1blow8 жыл бұрын
gay is not a sex.." is" a "gender.". there are only two sexes. why do you think you know what im afraid of ?.. I just said nohomo and byee.. Im not afraid of people interpreting it. The absence of a word doesnt mean you have confidence,, nor the inclusion of one doesnt show lack of it..
@rRunner2668 жыл бұрын
+The Dardans ??? Again wtf are you talking about gender and sexes? The addition of the word nohomo is completely unnessecary. And you already said you added it cause some people do interpret it as the deep meaning -> so you are concerned about what the environment makes of it, why would you be in the first place? Do you think a child would run to his beloved teacher and say: "I love you, ehh nohomo". ? Oh and what do you say if you love a woman in a non-deep-way. Gotto have some abbreviation for that too ofcourse.

Hi! Really been enjoying these crash courses in openings. Your video on the Yugoslav attack changed my game. I'm a low rated player (creeping into the high 1300s) so something that would be awesome is if you could do a series about beating weak openings for example The Steinitz Defense 1. e4 e5 2.Nf3 d6 and how to play the Sicilian when White doesn't play d4. It's supposed to be really bad, but I can't seem to crack it. Also, a lot of people seem to want the nimzovich

You didn't cover the very important and somewhat popular 4. a3 for white. Also, 7. ... Kf8 is an interesting sideline that at least deserves to be mentioned.

Yes, there is more to come, but these variations logically should've come in this part. Likewise, I did not mention the many poison pawn variations not covered because they fall under the next part.

I'm trying to study it and understand it too. Using Giris chessable-course too, but damn... It is such a vulnerable position - one wrong moveorder and the thing falls apart, and there are so many plans for white, even for low rated players that it is hard to find a correct reply.

At 15:30, isnt just ....Rxe6 winning or am I missing something? Is it necessary to take the f5 pawn with the knight?
@garyshow20053 жыл бұрын
I was thinking Rxe6 too, but Black can play Qg5+, forcing a queen trade. White would have to play Qxg5, then hxg5, and then Black plays Rg6, but Black can play g4, and on Rf1, Black plays Rf8. But that's a problem with Jonathan's solution as well. After Nxf5...exf5, Rxc6, again Black has Qg5+. White must again trade queens and then move the rook. In both lines, White's attack weakens with only a pawn gained, and Black is surviving, at least with drawing chances. So I think the line played in the game was best, just keep increasing the pressure until something cracks.

In the french defense, Black surrenders the entire center and protests white's control of the center later. :^)

No
@robertkeir75678 жыл бұрын
rRunner266 Yes, and you can't do anything about it ;)
@rRunner2668 жыл бұрын
It's just not true that black surrenders the entire centre. The pawns on e6 and d5 provide you with light square-control in the centre (e.g. the squares d5 and e4). For your second comment: you can actually play some sidelines against the french, which often results in non-typical structures, e.g. you CAN do something about it ;).
@robertkeir75678 жыл бұрын
Black surrenders the center with E6 and attempts to protest it only on his second move. In true French fashion. Surrender > Protest. That is what the French Defense is. And you are helpless, flaccid and impotent to do anything about it. ;) Sit in the corner and look at it.
@rRunner2668 жыл бұрын
In your first comment you said black surrenders the entire centre. This is just not true, cause with e6 black already takes control of the central square d5. An opening that suits your description better is for example the Aljechin (1.e4 Nf6), where black really cedes the centre and later tries to undermine it. So unlike in the Aljechin, in the French defense black does have central control from move 1. "And you are helpless, flaccid and impotent to do anything about it. ;) Sit in the corner and look at it." I'm sorry but this is also a false statement. White doesn't have to play 2.d4 and with 2.Nf3 d5 3. e5 c5 4. b4 it is rather White who is contesting the centre.
