Great video I’m glad your doing this I’ll follow you please do a detailed video on how your wiring the clutch position sensor and reverse light PLEASE, and which south bend clutch you ordered? For a mk4 or Passat?? I’m trying to manual swap my 18 Passat GT 3.6 and I need to know which south bend to get, I’m using a 04 R32 transmission cause oh yeah I’m making her AWD as well.
@Ninety4co6 ай бұрын
Hey! I mention that early on in the video, it’s a mk4 clutch/flywheel kit. My reverse light and clutch position sensor didn’t require any rewiring, they were already in place in my car. I dive deeper into wire in 2 episodes

I just wanna know where the funding for these kinds of projects come from. I got a mk5 rabbit gifted to me by this older VW enthusiast and i want nothing more than to make it awesome.
@Ninety4co6 ай бұрын
Do it man! I saved up for a while, but also this project cost less than you probably think. The engine came from a pick-your-part junkyard for $300. Of course I spent lots more on all the parts to rehab it but still, little bit at a time and I was slowly able to get what I needed over about a 3 month period. Perhaps in a while I’ll do a full build/cost breakdown including what I was able to sell all my old 2.0 stuff for.

So where was the 3.6 sourced? Was it one found in the Atlas? And if so, the MK4 trans works with it? Figured I’d ask. I’m sure it’s been covered in one of the videos.
@Ninety4co5 ай бұрын
Yup, mk4 trans from a 24v and it’s a BLV 3.6 from a b6 Passat

The harness that you scrapped and the new one you got from the dealership is that from the Passat ?
@Ninety4co4 ай бұрын
Yes! That was the Passat engine to ECU harness. That remained untouched throughout the swap. I talk about wiring a lot more in episode 4
@kenanking022 ай бұрын
Dumb question but was the trans swap necessary for this build?

Certainly can. Lots of companies make 24v swap mounts for the mk1-3 chassis. Saw several mk1s in Helen this year that were 2.8 and 3.2 swapped

@@Ninety4co I feel that! My MK6 was pretty mint and just needed a turbo, but I don't really turn a wrench beyond the basics (for lack of space/tools/funds) so it just made the most sense. I would have loved to keep it as a project but hopefully it can be someone else's racecar someday
