wait what? I had no idea Vektroid is a vtuber. Also, Florale Shoppe changed my life, I'm grateful for it.

I never knew that they were a VTuber. Huh, neat. Also I’m pretty sure vaporwave was around a little before Macintosh Plus, but they did popularize it and pioneer it, kind of like how HOME did too. Floral Shoppe really popularized vaporwave, but recently it’s fallen back out into obscurity. I hope it gets more recognition.

100% we need a Vaporwave comeback
@mamamiyalozatoz10 ай бұрын
Vaporwave had a long history of dying and making a comeback ever since it first started (with people claiming that the genre is dead even as early as 2012 before eventually making a comeback later on) so I won't be surprised if it's gonna make a comeback soon. That said however barber beats artists like haircuts for men DOES make vaporwave popular again in the early 2020s which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you're asking

Ramona was THE woman to inspire me to start making my own music and even just got me into vaporwave. I love her albums like Dream Castle, Home, Seed and Synthetic Earth, Fuji Grid TV EX, Floral shoppe, and even my absolute favorite vaporwave album that she made, Neo Cali (which I made my own cassette of). She is literally amazing (also your taste in music is awesome!!).

Also she didn't actually create vaporwave, that offer goes to Oneohtrix Point Never with Chuck Person's Eccojams Vol.1 (he actually works for The Weeknd now and composed some songs in after hours)
@wallaceprobably Жыл бұрын
I see it more as Oneohtrix Point Never and James Ferraro provided the material to build Vaporwaves foundation, but Ramona was the first one to take those materials and actually build it. You can't deny her work wasn't behind the visual aesthetic of the entire scene. regardless though, i totally understand what you're saying! (also yeah his work for the weeknd is incredible, i think he also worked on dawn fm)

Lopatin invented the basic musical ideas for vaporwave but the whole visual aesthetic and themes of consumerism and the like was something vektroid pioneered (and to an extent, invented)
@beaniebloob20096 ай бұрын
@@mamamiyalozatozI can see that, but then again OPN did have Japanese ads as visuals in Memory Vague, which was released in 2009.

Vaporwave was created by Sunset Corp! This guy, who created the album "Ecco Jams", created this masterpiece back in 2009. His songs were pretty popular, and some KZbin users started creating music videos using his tracks. Later, vektroid was inspired by his music and created a floral shoppe.

I'd argue she's creating a new genre again too. She's seemingly left the vaporwave and synth pop scene and is experimenting with what she calls crash music. It's a really interesting concept and I would check it out if you're into glitch or experimental music.

It’s more like she invented the entire aesthetic and style of the movement rather than pioneer the music of the movement. We can thank people like James Ferraro and OneOhTrix Point Never for that.
