Aside from your universal joints being out of phase, the whole setup looks really good! I'm impressed, to tell the truth!

Thanks! Do you think I would impove the vibrations if I adjusted the u-joint alignment?

@@RustyCarnahan how should the u-joint be aligned?
@RustyCarnahan4 жыл бұрын
@@andrewroudny the "ears" of the yokes on the shaft should be in direct alignment with one another. This video does a good job of explaining what I mean: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5XOZHWMebt7p5Y

Hi , interesting project. As for a support for your back rest, have a look at how open wheel racecars or tube frame sportscars are constructed. Every tube should be part of a triangle so the stresses are spread over the whole frame.

An all-tube frame CK would be a very interesting project for my next CK, if there is going to be one.

thats must rob it of a lot of HP...but it looks great... I thought it was going to be a front mounted engine with a drive shaft running to the back wheels... good looking work though :)

Driving both rear wheels without a differential? When you said it worked wonderfully did that include turning?
@andrewroudny3 жыл бұрын
Yeah! The only time the live axle is a problem is during u-turns on asphalt. The radius suffers a tad. But on every other surface and every other conditions, it works great.

Hi Andrew, Cool project. Do you have the SKU number for your driveshaft assembly at Princess Auto? I can't seem to find anything that resembles the assembly you have.
@andrewroudny2 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter. I don't have a SKU. I belive the shaft has been discontinued at Princess Auto. Harbour Freight in the USA may have stock. I haven't looked.

Why not incorporate the motor with the sospension?

is it designed to turn both rear wheels or just the one. I haven't seen a Cycle kart yet with rear suspension. I wonder how your front suspension looks like
@andrewroudny4 жыл бұрын
Both. The last chain turns the rear axle which is solid and attached to both rear hubs. We took it out for a more lengthy test in sept 2019 and it worked beautifully. One of my other videos shows thw front suspension as part of a tour of the whole cart.

Here's another one with suspension. First video is when the chassis was first driveable, and the second one is the completed kart. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGfCn3yqaquEfqM kzbin.info/www/bejne/qamlh3ZrYtqbaZo
