I bought a brand new 2022... I know it's not the absolute best, but in terms of value and internal space, it was a no-brainer. I do a lot of traveling and I drive many different rentals. The Tiguan is one of the best handling and driving compact SUVs on the market. All around, it's a really good car for the money, hence it's their best selling.

I had a new 2018 Tiguan SE when it came out and absolutely loved it. It did have 2 recalls but that was it. The only reason I don’t have it anymore is that I saw a new Arteon back in 2021 and trade my Tiguan in for it

Nice man I have a 21 Tiguan SE R-Line Black edition and 18 Passat GT. REALLY trying to add the 22+ Arteon as a 3rd car but have to get out of some debt first haha

I've purchased a Volkswagen Tiguan SEL Premium 4Motion (yes, it's a mouthful) in 2019. This thing is fully loaded with everything possible on it. Feature wise it's great and still has the physical buttons on the steering wheel. I also have the digital instrument panel but mine was directly lifted from Audi's Q5 model. The SEL was the only one with a digital display in 2019 and lower trims had the analog gauge cluster. My Tiguan is Cardinal Red which was a option. I've added limo tint and Weathertech floor mats. After driving the Tiguan for 26,000 miles, I'm still happy with it overall. I've had minor recalls and a few electronic and fit and finish issues. Also, the huge sunshade cover decided to completely disassemble from the passenger side. In colder temperatures, the rubber bushings of the front suspension becomes stiff and creates creaking noises. I've also had to change the battery and had to bring it to the dealership so that the computers could be reset to manufacturers specs. My windshield had to be replaced due to an unfortunate event on the freeway. I strongly believe that the Tiguan is underpowered with the corporate 2 liter turbo. I recently had to drive over 600 miles and it lacked power to overtake some vehicles on the freeway. According to my wife, the Tiguan sounds strained, exhausted, and struggling to keep up with traffic. It should have the GTI motor in it to give it a little more pep. There was a huge difference when I switched from the original Pirelli Scorpion tires to the Michelin Crossclimate tires. The ride quality improved significantly with a much beeter driving experience and noise. A much smoother, comfortable, and secure ride. Overall I still like it due to the versatility, looks, and features, but after 26,000 miles I feel that there are better options out there.

I wish the roof shade wasn't just a flimsy sheer fabric. I live in SoCal where it's hot and sunny. Would love a heat/sun blocking martial like black out shades.

Avoid delete models. Delete model are missing some features due to supply chain shortages, while you get a few dollars off for the missing items, once you try those missing items, you’ll wish you waited. Mine was missing the R-line steering wheel and power lift gate. Both of those features are very nice. The R-line steering wheel control are love them or leave them, but hear me out. The texture of the leather wrapped R-Line steering wheel is superior that the base steering wheel. Try it and you’ll understand. The power lift gate is wonderful if you have families. For the $$$ your spending, avoid the delete models and you’ll be glad you did. If you’re wondering, yes I have a delete model and those items really make the car a complete package. Hope this helps a future Tiguan buyer somewhere out there!

Just bought one today. I'm usually a Chevy or Ford guy. (Don't judge me lol) My wife fell in love with it, so now it's in the garage. I'm just curious about the reliability of these.

@Bruce LeeRoy No need to cross your fingers. Just hope you have a great technician to service your Tiguan. Besides you see how solid the doors close. You know you have a solid vehicle. I know cause I purchased a Tiguan this month. I've had it about three weeks now. It rides nice. Looks great and it's peppy. Then who's worried about 0-60 time. Once you up to speed. The turbo kicks in and the torque keeps you ahead of the crowd. I'm loving the Tiguan. I have a Pyrite Silver one. Just like the one in the video.

An important note is that the SR- line has only 5 seat capacity. All other Tiguans have a 7 seat capacity.

False. The SEL R LINE doesn’t have third row as it comes with 4motion standard. Any of the fwd models come with third row

I have a 2022 Volkswagen Tiquan SE R-Line Black. On certain days I am having problems accelerating from a stopped position. Happened quite a bit on the 100 degree days we had this summer (2024). However, it is also happening on collet days as well. I will hit the gas and no acceleration. On the hotter days of if I shut the A/C off it would go each time. When the car decides to do it, it’s for that entire day. Then I could have a week or weeks where it doesn’t do it at all. Dealer is trying to act like it’s something I’m gonna have to pay for. I can’t find any videos on 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan, SER line, black acceleration problems. Does anybody have any advice for this problem? Or has anyone else experienced the same problem in their 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Yes. Me too. I like this color. But doesn’t come in the SEL which is bummer. I hate that u can’t get the dove grey interior color in at other color but the blue and black

It'd be great if you could mention the gas on the different models your showing if regular or super , cause for me that factors in if I buy or wait for another vehicle. Thxs

If they come out with a hybrid version and return real buttons to the steering wheel, this it will be hard to beat. Pretty great as is but the competition is fierce.

It will be great if Tiguan did not use the unreliable plastic brittle engine water pump that leak , plastic non durable timing belt tensioner and other plastic brittle engine parts that are short lived. Scare of buying any Tiguan
