I suspect the same people that snatched Maggie's son, took Negan's baby. I think Negan's wife died trying to stop the kidnappers. I think revenge and rescue would be the only reason Maggie and Negan set out for NYC together.

There’s no way they will fall in love! They do have amazing chemistry on screen and they would make a gorgeous couple but there’s no way Maggie will hook up with that man!
