gosh! hearing them talk about building characters and taking their time with the series means so much to me! thats what makes the show man. thats why i was dissappointed with Legend of Korra, they rushed the plot and forgot the characters maybe thats how some people like it but im now officially obsessed with the characters more than anything else and twd does a great job with that.. That's why people are afraid he might get killed off. Usually (especially in movies) when a character that wasn't in the original books or comic books or tv show or whatever, there is a bigger chance that character is killed off then the ones from the original material. But then again Daryl has had some major character development ( even more development then some of the other characters) so I don't know. I hope he doesn't get killed off, his "tough love" badassness is awesome.

His brother most definitely influenced him but i'd say Daryl's character is supposed to start off like his brother then as the show progresses we realise he has a lot of redeeming features and undoubtedly has a good side. It makes it more exciting if he can be a loose cannon at times though :p
