Maybe Andrea told to let him know if he attacks, he'll be attacking an innocent baby as well. I dunno, Andrea is compassionate and I think even she didn't think at the time that the Governor was a _complete_ monster as to willingly sacrifice a newborn for something that can be resolved diplomatically. Maybe that would give him pause. Unfortunately it didn't.

Finally, someone else mentions what I've wondered about since the tables turned. I never understood why Andrea told the Governor about Judith possibly not being Rick's. I mean, what part of pillow talk does one bring something like that up. For someone trying to keep the peace, she sure gave the Governor a lot of weapons to hurt Rick. She didn't give Rick any interesting tidbits about the Governor's past.

Approx 34:57: if they decide to surround the prison, Rick's group can probably create a lot of noise and attract walkers from all around, and that will probably turn the tides in their favor. @@franklythemooch7413 yes that's what I think Andrea is the most human character in the show, she is so desperately trying to stop this situation and especially saving lives, she knew that the people in the prison and at Woodbury are innocent people, well just put away the Governor. And we can see that on Merle. Andrea knew that she was the only one that can hardly try to stop this war for her intimate relationship that she have with the Governor

I think that's what makes her compelling. Its easy to say that from the outside, but when you've spent time with _both_ sides of the coin like she has? When you know for a _fact_ that there are many people on _both_ sides who _don't_ deserve what is coming? I think _any_ decent human being would do anything to stop it. Tbh, people just want her to callously ignore the lives of innocents and choose Ricks side because it's the people we've been with from the start. That's not realistic to a compassionate person who wants to preserve innocent lives. You want her to willingly fight against and kill innocent people she _knows_ are being manipulated and lied to. I mean come on.
@franklythemooch7413
@franklythemooch7413 5 жыл бұрын
@@roseofthegarden_ I don't think, when it first aired, that's what people wanted her to do. I think it became 'why are you with the shady dude who isn't telling you the whole truth?' at the time the audience are aware of Michonne is the sole reason Andrea is alive. That Rick and the gang are literally a few strides away, and she picks the guy who graduated from the Jim Jones school of manipulation and convenient excuses, it was the idea that she didn't owe the people of Woodbury anything yet she was cheerleading for them.

It hurts my heart to hear that you lost your precious son at 2 and 1/2. I truly cannot imagine how horrifying that was for you. I do understand when you said that there is good that comes from loss sometimes...and that you wouldn't have your youngest child had you not lost your son. I delivered twin boys at 27 weeks and they died. This was 22 years ago and at that time they still weren't saving many micro preemies. It was a nightmare. I had my oldest daughter and went on to have another daughter within the year and then 3 more boys after. Losing my twins was so hard but I know I wouldn't have my other children if the twins had survived. God carried me through it all. The way you two love and support each other is so special. I am sorry about your precious boy and appreciate your sharing that with us. Sending you love and hugs.

losing a baby is insanely hard, we had to bury our friends 3 month old last year, she just got sick and the doctors said well babies get fevers and sent her home with antibiotics, it didn't get better so she went to the er and that's where she passed. I've never felt anything like that I've never sobbed so hard at a funeral, I've never been so inconsolable. she wasn't mine, but when you spend 6 to 8 hours a day with babies you're just as excited to watch them grow. sorry you guys went through that too, I can honestly say I have a good idea what you went through. don't apologize for how you word things or what you say, our experiences mold those opinions and because someone else didn't go through it, they just can't understand where you're coming from.

I endlessly enjoy your comments about Andrea. Seriously. I'm trying to remember where I read this, but the line is (paraphrased), "The best leaders always second guess themselves". That's Rick. Even though, WE know, that Rick knows the Gov. won't just stop with Michonne, he's still thinking the offer over. You are wrong on one thing, the Gov did care about one thing other than himself, his daughter. Her loss has shattered him. As Lori's death has shattered Rick. As the loss of your own son, shattered the both of you (thank you both for that story. Losing someone is always tough, but your child? Some people never come out from that. You have. I'm glad you made it through to the other side, no matter how long or how difficult it was/is). We all experience loss in our lives (I know I have), how we deal with it (or don't), defines who we are. There are so many parallels in this season. Rick and the Gov. and their losses. Andrea and Merle as both outsiders in both of their respected communities, and as family. Minor ones such as Martinez and Daryl, and Milton and Herschel in this very episode. Michonne and Rick and dealing with death of a loved one (last episode). Rick and Morgan. I'm sure you get my point (yes I'm verbose, sorry mods). It's how they deal with their issues, that is the interesting aspect for me. For no one every deals with life/death issues the same way. But that's something you already know. Thank you both for a wonderful discussion and reaction. Until next time, keep on keeping on.

Your personal story was so powerful. Gary Griffin Gary thank you so much for the great comment. This tragedy could have went the direct opposite as I have seen this destroy couples as well. When they say when your young life isn’t easy I thought that meant (back then) paying bills, going to work, making decisions. Life isn’t easy and losing people you love so much was not even a thought when I was told this. That said I have to go back to my upbringing and parents. They were loving yet held me accountable. I have to thank them for my ability to pull myself out of what could have been a destructive path after something traumatic happens such as this. If I shared the whole scenario of that time frame it would shock you but we truly became the couple we are today. Steve

I truly don't understand why people got on your case about wanting Rick to snap out of it. Even in the context of the episode, Hershel basically told him to snap out of it. "He's got something up his asscrack." LMAO!!! It tells me so much about how much real life knowledge you guys have when you were able to see the very subtle "cut" the Governor did to Rick to trigger him. Nice catch. Not many people see that kind of low-key viciousness. That's real life stuff right there. Great reaction. Love your discussions. Once again, I'm so sorry for your loss. 😊🌺🏝️❤️

So now Rick has this big dilemma. Like Rick said: He probably will kill us anyway. But then again like he said: WHAT IF he's NOT ??. What if this is the answer ??. And it's a tricky decision because they have just found and secured something that remotely looks like an actual HOME. So i understand his struggle and i love that he told Hershel because if anyone can talk him out of it, it's him.

Great reaction and dialogue guys! Another advantage for Woodbury and disadvantage for the prison is that the prison does have that breach in the walls, where Tyrese and Sasha's group came through. Rick and Co don't seem to know about it either, since the prison is so big. But also, the prison has those catacomb-type passageways that the group could use to sneak out, if they get surrounded or if they need to do some runs or something, but again, they're going to have to explore the prison more to use that option.

Ddynasty19 That’s the thing you can identify certain areas of your life into this show material. This show does exactly that put yourselves in their shoes and the writers left just enough out to incorporate your beliefs and understanding. If that makes sense. I am telling you this show has made me think of things went down like this what is our plan. It’s a great process and honestly I see the prepper side of me come out. I mean in a world where things could change in an instant and it has throughout history of Earth it’s not a bad idea. I could go on about things that could go wrong and easily put ourselves into a similar world. It’s scary but interesting and this show brings that out in all of us I believe.

The Other Side Thank you and often I speak without showing that wheel turning in the brain. When I read a few comments the same was said and believe you me. I know about mental illness and how it affects many many people. As I explained it is my love for the character and what he stands for as I see myself as a Rick as well. When Rick went to his knees in that unforgettable scene it hit home more than you know. It brought back that pain once more and I felt it. What an incredible moment in the history of acting seeing a man playing a character being that much realism to this show. Much love from the Duo and I hope while you get to know me I have a huge heart when it comes to things that are sensitive. What I like about comments maybe questioning things I may say I totally appreciate. That’s where I can re-approach what I meant and bring it more clarity as to why I feel a certain way. I also got the feeling that Phillip was taking different approaches to test and manipulate Rick; The story about his wife seemed to bother Rick because it mirrors Lori's death to a degree. I'm also ticked at Andrea for revealing all of this information in the first place but eh she crazy for the D. lol

I was raised by parent that always happy. Even when their parent died (my grandma and grandpa), I'm not seeing they cried. Meanwhile I see my aunt and the other family member cried out loud and blaming each other. Even some of them blame me for not visiting my grandma/grandpa. Yeah, I'm the only grandson from 2 families. I understand why they mad at me. They need that emotion relieve. But, my parent calmly said to me "it's not my fault". I knew. I've never see them mourning, but I know they are sad for 2-3 days (only). I don't know my parent is a sociopath or what. I'm the only child on the family. So, I only understand human relationship from 2 of them. And from movie. When there are "emotion" happen on a movie, my father always say "why did he/she do that?", It's illogical. I wouldn't do that. When I grew up, I'm trying to understand why some people sad or happy. At first it is hard for me to know when I should sad or happy. I can only learn from movies. Until one show hit me "Breaking Bad". Funnily, after I learn how to react properly. I think I start building empathy. And I start feel sad and happy in life too. It's weird and not rational. At those times, I'm asking why I'm sad or happy at certain times. For example: I'm afraid to go to store/mall, afraid to say hi to new people. Sometimes I just walking and feel happy, or waking up at morning just feel sad. Then, I started a diary to list of what I do and what I feel. Trying to understand it and rewatch Breaking Bad over and over. Now I already had a job and I already can control those emotion. Still, watching your reaction of "Walking Dead" and "Breaking Bad" always give me new lesson. I think it is how being a human.

So many viewers didn't get what Rick had actually decided at this point. Glad you seem to have gotten it. The show applied a lot of subtly on this. Rick told Herschel that he told our group the Gov wants the prison because the group needs to be scared of going to war. It's the only way they would accept the alternate choice. All I can say is when you have a chance to save your kids ... you'll do anything.

First, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine...I'm glad you guys had each other to lean on during such a difficult time. And I think it's wonderful that you're willing to share with us to give your perspective on what's happening in the show. ❤ Second, It's so refreshing to see reactors who are at least _trying_ to consider Andrea's side instead of writing her off as some dumb, traitor bitch who only wants the Governor's D. I'm glad there is some real discussion in your reactions. Andrea isn't perfect, but I absolutely empathize with what she has been trying to do. She just wants to save innocent people on _both_ sides. She's the only one in this situation who has knowledge of _both_ communities, so of course she feels like it's her responsibility to do whatever she can to protect both sides with innocent lives at stake.

@Duo Reacts ~I'm sorry about your son. I lost my nephew Dec. of 2006 when he was just 10 months old. I was babysitting and went to wake him up for his afternoon feeding but the little guy wasn't breathing. I called 911 and did CPR til the paramedics came and got him. Later my sister came back and told me he was just gone. I cried buckets at the funeral. That day still haunts me. Miss him terribly. At the time, my niece was a month shy of 4yrs. She rarely speaks of her little brother but she remembers and misses him still. Lacey & Steve, (get it right, Steve) like the Starks we have all suffered losses, but the important fact is that we are still here. When my oldest daughter had just turned 1 yrs old we were at a cookout at a family member's home and toward the end I was helping my son, who was almost 4 at the time, with something. I asked my husband to keep an eye on our daughter until I was back outside in a few minutes. My husband turned around for a split second, as everyone was starting to clean up the trash outside, and it was just enough time for our daughter to trip and fall into the fire pit. Thankfully the fire was nearly out, but it was still very hot. My husband grabbed her quickly but she still ended up with 3rd degree burns on her hands and forearms, as well as first degree burns on her nose and forehead. She recovered, but now at 8 yrs old she'll be having her second skin graft surgery on one of her hands where she has major scarring. There were 8 adults outside that evening and all it took was one second for an accident to happen. My husband still blames himself to this day and probably always will, but it could happen to anyone. I don't blame him or anyone else. Accidents unfortunately sometimes just happen and there's little we can do to prevent them. I already knew about your son, Steve and Lacey, from your GoT reactions, and my heart goes out to you both.

I don't really think Morgans situation is parallel to ricks.. Rick has Carl, this helped bring him back. Rick is also with friends... Morgan saw his son devoured by the very person he couldnt shoot, his dead wife.. He has thus been living all alone, with nothing to hope for... "And surrounded by people with dead faces" .
@DuoReacts
@DuoReacts 5 жыл бұрын
@Mark Morris ~ I would disagree, Rick and Morgan are definitely meant to be parallels of each other. Some of the details are different sure... but the general premise is that they both lost loved ones and it hit them both very hard. I believe I even mention during our post discussion that Rick had people surrounding him to help him get through it while Morgan did not. Morgan only had himself, and his thoughts... Rick still has something to fight for and Morgans only motivation is to clear. It is almost like Rick and Morgan are mirror images of each other. ~ Lacey
