Hands-down, my favorite character was Hershel. He was compassionate and decent but wasn't afraid to do what needed to be done to protect his family. He represented what I would say, an excellent example of true masculinity: Kind and compassionate toward his family and those who showed they were decent, but willing to protect the ones he loved against anyone who threatened them. As the series progressed, I started seeing Hershel as an older version of Rick.

I hate to say it but Dale wouldn't have lived longer if he had made it farther than season 2 he would have been soft for too long unless he shaped up and became like how the group became
