You mixed Dales lines together with the backbone texture of what i think the essence of this tale entails, how far we are willing to go while still being "alive" and if you lose yourself the rest is up to bargain for. Every character after the farm is their own villain, just like in real life.

Shane adapted so insanely well to the REALITY of the situation. Granted, he was abit hectic, but he knew that strenght and perserverance was the key to survival. Rick was wrong early seasons, Shane was right. He would have made a great leader.

He was smart and sure determined. But that's not at all what was needed the most. Remember Shane killed the dude so he could have the supplies and save Carl on time. Survival gives us the worst exam of all. Would you lose morality or life ? Would you do what it takes ? And rick answered by doing what was needed, if rick can kill his bestest friend ever. Rick Fucking Grimes will protect them the best. Literally love how these creations and art works make me wonder. Wouldn't we be just animals without the same society we hate for the way it's structured. Wow I can talk all day about this. I love when I can share my opinions with absolute strangers who are equally invested. Sorry if my comment came off as annoying or pointless. I just wanted to rant may be hehehe. Tc

He became the worst of the two evils. Shane became worse than a zombie and reminded rick he needs to do the same. Which rick did. Also Shane lost everything he had, Lost Lori and Carl. He just wanted rick to end it. Instead made his best bud stronger before dying. To make sure all 4 of them Grimes survive. Survival of the fittest I guess. Damm I love how Kirkman always takes me deeper than a normal scene should be.

Shane was put for himself and Lori. Rick keeps people alive Shane would have killed many others because he thinks he is in the right he was not a leader like Rick. He hadn't gone enough hell to become what Rick became later. Yes he saw the world for how it wss before Rick did but Rick had to go through souch hell and war to become who he is now.

The difference between the 2 is that Rick would fight to the death for all the people he loved not just lori and Carl but everyone he also knew when to stop before he went to far shane couldn’t and wouldn’t stop he only truly cared lori and Carl and in some ways Rick as well. Rick had good people to pull him back from that place.
