I talked about us having ZERO pass rush last season. It's worse now because we have no run defense either. You can't win in the NFL without that. DJ Reader's absence is felt tremendously.

They thought they were smart last year letting both safeties go - Wrong. They thought they were smart this year letting DJ Reader go - Wrong They gonna have to realize, sometimes it worth paying your players that are special and keep it going, not everyone can be replaced, especially with backup talent.

The dt's for the Bengals were back ups.That was part of the problem.Sam Hubbard,is worthless.Trey Hendrickson,is the only one who has any pass rush.

33pts in that environment should be more than enough to beat any team in the league. I don’t know who to blame, but if Bates was still here, Dax, Vaughn and Geno wouldn’t be here.

Even when our D line is healthy, it's still not bad. When it's unhealthy, it's Bryce Young bad. So my question is: if the front office makes it its mission to improve the defense, then how many years will it take to go from the worst defense in the NFL to a league-average defense?

Drafting has frankly been abysmal. Zach Carter needed to be replaced two years ago. Joseph Ossai all promise no delivery. Dax HIll an experiment, Geno Stone doesn't look much better than Nick Scott and Vonn Bell looks washed. They can't manage their cap, they lean on late round rookies because they're cheap and they're just not good enough. In any other organization Lou would be gone, but these are the Bengals, they're going to keep things the same and just hope for change. Hope isn't a plan.

I just don’t understand why people follow the preseason to evaluate starters & backups and then get shocked when starters are out with injuries and the productivity is too low to get a victory.... THE MAJORITY OF THE DEFENSIVE LINE IS INJURED. Any OC in the NFL & College would attack that problem.... It is not the fault of Lou Anarumo, Zac, etc... in the NFL & College TALENT RULES. That's why Drafts, Trades (in college) Portals are a prime focus. The Bengals had to use a one arm rookie DT and a near retirement (respectable) DT to cover for two injured Starting DTs, I expected problems. I still feel that The Bengals will adjust, because they have definitely proven that they can adjust (Look at the Offensive production now). I also feel that the Bengals can not only make the Playoffs (17 game season), but win a SB.

Lou and Duke have spent 8 out of the top 10 picks on defense in the last three drafts. Their big FA fish have been Bell, Stone, Rankins etc. And you're just like, "wait until they're healthy"? Is no one accountable for a high school defense?

If the rules allowed Washington would have converted on 5th and 6th downs last night. Bright spot of that is didn't need BP meds last night while the punts in the air heading towards Charlie Jones

I guess its my Philly upbringing bc I just don't get you milk toast mid westerners 🤦🏽‍♀️ This team - ownership and FO - has been mismanaging talent with questionable draft/FA picks, player development, and refusing to pay top talent. Y‘all just accept ZT and JB's same ole talking points that lack both accountability and passion. Like where is the urgent, angry frustration at losing three in a row, all three which could have been winners?1! Where is Duke, Mike and Katie? If this were Philly or NYC press corps, they would have gotten cooked at the presser. 😂😂 Fans need to blackout Paycor with a big no show until this org accounts for itself. Cincy folks way too nice and way to isolated to know how over rated nice is. 😂😂😂 Someone needs to bring the heat to the org and leave the players tf alone.

@snave59 I was referring to the brown injury. And mims can get hurt again. As for dline hill and rankins and Murphy not being in the line up exposes us bad. But we are third to last in rushing. We may have to bring in an extra lineman us all our tight ends and run the ball control clock protect the defense

We're back to being the bungles. This feels like the Marvin lewis era where people would say "this team is too talented".... We'll, no they aren't. Lots of bandwagon bengals fans have no right to be mad. Season tickets are going to be available next year. It has always been clear this team has ignored getting talent on defense Duke Tobin is a trash "GM". Bad drafts after bad drafts. Feels like we're going to get another Carson Palmer situation with Burrow. Somebody threw a hat at him last night. C'mon man. Burrow, the white static QB, isn't a winning QB anymore. Black QBs are taking over. They're dynamic and can generate plays which is what you have to have. Burrow missed a lot of throws mahomes makes look easy last night that you gotta have You're clearly seeing why you don't need Higgins and chase. They don't move the needle on whether the team is a contender or not. Chad Johnson, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Justin Jefferson, cee dee lamb all Superbowl less. Don't need them. I'm prove the team as a whole Or put that money in expanding the scouting staff for the draft. This team is cooked for years to come. Burrow ain't it. He's lost the "cool" factor and once your out of the darling media's eye you're pretty much done... And you need a superstar to win. Joe flaacco and Trent dilfer ain't happen ever again
