Jakob is a massive talent; but so was his wingman in the Wallflowers, Rami Jafee on piano/keyboards. Brilliant musician in his own right. Now with the Foo Fighters

I'd just like to say...if anyone's listening... that I rekindled my love for this band about a week ago. In 2001 I saw them live...with John Mellencamp, I believe....about a week after 9/11...Jacob said for his final song he was going to play a British song to Canadians, by an American artist (that CSI song...we won't get fooled again) This is for me one of those memories that will just never ever go away....so at the end of this video he says you never know which song will have longevity....but I think it can also be the entire portfolio of the artist that makes it lasting, as well as the personality...for me, that one small statement allowed me to trust and fall in love with this music. In that one instant I tapped into someone who has stellar integrity. I'm really hoping these lyrics are general, and not a tale of something he went through....because that would absolutely break my heart.

Hand Me Down was about being in the shadow of someone. It's literally about being disregarded or people blowing him off simply for being Dylan Jr.

This song could be sung acoustically so many different ways, in so many different pitches, and in eclectic musical variations...yet The Wallflowers are the only band that can do it perfectly. Thank you for staying true to rock and roll and never conforming to 'appeal' ... True rock stars!!

Love this song sooooo much. I love the arrangement on the original record much more than this---but still great.

He's said in interviews that his songs are not autobiographical and that his family is affectionate to him.
@123thof2 жыл бұрын
@@nachobidness2553 I don't think this is about his family if it's autobiographical; it's about the prejudices against him when he started moving forward. He also contradicted his dad about *Blood on the Tracks*.
