I'm not a youngster and I am a Christian. I really enjoyed the song. I would love to hear these young people sing a couple of renditions of some of the older TRADITIONAL GOSPEL type songs. Those songs that I used to hear my mama sing when cooking breakfast or dinner or when she was worried about something or someone. The songs my great-grandfather sang before there were air conditioners and the windows had to be let up to get a breeze in the "House of Prayer." I think that would help bridge the gap between the two previous generations and the generations of today. What I mean is the divide in music between babies up to 25 years old, younger adults 25 - 40, then there's the group of 40 to 55, then there's the group of 55- 70, then there's the group ages 70 and above Scripturally a generation is 40 years. Because of babies having babies we had to redefine the word. Doesn't make sense right. The same with the written Word of God. Instead of taking it as it is written (face value) we have to dress it up to meet the needs of the those that won't believe. Those given over to "seducing spirits" You know those that say as long as it gets them to church...... Well personally I don't subscribe to that mentality. Give me that old time religion. Or as it seems appropriate to say that stuff that brought my 87 years old mother and 89 years old daddy or my 108 years old grandmother and 110 years old grandfather. Or even my 50 years old self. I've been a musician in the Missionary Baptist churches, the CME, AME, AME ZION, COGIC, PAW, AOH, EOH, PRESBYTERIAN, CATHOLIC and probably a few others. Children learn more about what has afforded the fellowship of believers in Jesus to grow and flourish into the Bride of Christ. That's what He's coming back for; His Bride. Sorry for such a large post. I would be remiss if I didn't tell you what I and a few others believe and share. But then, narrow is the way and there are but a very few find it. Do keep singing. Just a little belief of mine. I'm just saying "What would mama 'dem think about us and our music?"
