He does! He rates cards by how impactful they will be this expansion, so over the course of 4 months until the next set drops But the best part about a new set is every card (to some extent) is really good on the opening week, so his star rating is null and void until we've been about a month in and found which deck does well against them all

Trump´s rating goes not by power, but by expected usage in between rank 10 and legend (pretty damn specific if you ask me). Those doesn´t even make sense ´till a few weeks into the expansion, and even then half are expected to be wrong, even by trump. That´s just how statistics work, I´m sure Trump is fully aware of this as his real skills are number-crunching

the handlock deck is pretty nice actually (except for elise)

The idea behind Elise was to buff Mountain Giant and Twilight Drake if you draw them later on with a smaller hand. It's actually a pretty solid idea to include her since the deck has an much anti-aggro as possible already. Handlock still won't ever be great again unless the crazy aggro decks vanish.

The problem with Trump is he still rates minions in terms of their stats to mana cost ratio. This was fine back in the old days, but these days with all these crazy expansions with combo's all over the place, he needs to open his mind more to the possibilities of what a card can achieve. He needs to let old cards go and old deck types go and re-program his mind to innovative thinking. Amaz always whips Trump because he changes as hearthstone changes.

obv is a element of rng but def not 90% , theres loads of decks that consistently draw their win conditions and theres lots of players that have above average win rates. You can get ruined by rng but its all about averages and if the game was almost entirely rng then people would not be able to get above 60% win rates consistently which all of the good players have.
