Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds is back with a monumental UK tour in March and April 2025. Conducted by Jeff Wayne and featuring Liam Neeson in 3D holography as The Journalist, who recounts his story of survival from the Martian invasion of 1898.
The Wanted’s Max George and Maisie Smith will be playing the married couple Parson Nathaniel & wife Beth, unleashing a series of ‘firsts’, as we hear Maisie sing for the first time, Max act for the first time - as well as this being a monumental first for The War of The Worlds, as Jeff Wayne casts a real-life couple.

Soo excited for this, was lucky enough to get tickets last time around for the Brighton Centre. As soon as we came out we wanted to see it again so can’t wait for April 2025 and going back to Brighton for another amazing show. Really hoping the legendary Justin Hayward will be part of the show again.

My father-in-law showed me the double CD album in 2022 and I was hooked! I'll be seeing the live stage show in March 2025 and will be dancing in the aisles - whether I'm allowed to or not!

... is that a new instrumental in the background? I was under the impression that the new recordings were just of the 'edited down' versions but this does sound like the whole track was re-recorded, which leaves me with one other question: ... can we get a new album now with this updated instrumentation? 😅 EDIT: That is not the 1978 or 2012 The Eve of the War. That is a new version.

It's not The Eve Of The War at all, it's The Spirit Of Man... with the vocals taken out... Unless you meant the last minute of the video! Pretty sure it's the 2012 version just chopped up slightly to fit the video.

@@stuartgunpowder I'm referring to both. The Spirit of Man is played at the lower pitch first heard in 2009 rather than the pitch used in the 1978 and 2012 albums and has what sounds like a new drum recording, similar to the one in the recently-released single. As for The Eve of the War, it has the 1978 synths alongside the 2012 drums, bass and guitars like the more recent shows.
