As someone who didn't want the joining I feel like if it happened sooner it wouldn't have caused such a big issue. Yes it was hinted at and talked about a lot but after three books it didn't happen, I feel like it happened way to late and those of us that didn't want it felt like it was safe. Putting it in the fourth book feels wayyyyy to late for something of this nature, especially since Poppy and Cas have such a developed relationship. As well as Cas and Poppy being heartmates it puts them in a weird power dynamic if it does go into a throuple or poly direction since Keiran clearly isn't a part of that. I don't enjoy reading throuple or poly relationships and if I would have known this was going to happen/be a thing I wouldn't have picked up the series in the first place, its just not my cup of tea. And that's why I feel so salty about it, I feel in love with the world instantly in the first book and feel let down. I fell in love with Poppy and Cas as a couple and was happy with them. Part of me wants to read the next book just to see what she does with it but the other half doesn't want to waste more of my time with how its even a possible throuple.

Usually reverse harem books contain a warning labelling them as such. It's was honestly traumatizing reading the joining scene because of how much I loved Poppy and Casteel. I couldn't understand how they loved each other so much but were willing to share each other. It just wasn't my definition of love.

Anybody else think that Keiran and Poppy’s relationship looks a lot like Keiran and Casteel’s relationship? I don’t think Keiran and Poppy romantically love each other, I think the three of them in the tent at the end shows that. But I like the idea of their friendships being really similar and Keiran just being intrigued ☺️
