It is no exaggeration to say that in their quest to malign Islam, some in the West target Muslim women. Her position within the family, her place in society and, of course, her dress are placed under the microscope - and like colonialists in the days of empire, her emancipation is seen to be a means to a greater Islamic reformation. In recent days, France’s minister of education has announced that Abayas, the loose dress many Muslims wear for modesty, will be banned from schools. Apparently, a piece of clothing is an affront to French secularism and, yet again, another sign of separatism. In the UK, the former prime minister likened burka-wearing Muslim women is a those who chose to look like letterboxes and bank robbers.
Young Muslim women are subject to a barrage of what can only be called propaganda, traducing their religious dress and promising to liberate them from their religion. To help us understand how this works and to caution against some of the extremes by which the community can handle this onslaught.

Yes, that is true. But in the West, ie where Lauren Booth comes from, the UK, we are free to wear the hijab most places. Maybe an odd remote village here or there may be difficult. I would say wearing it in India now is very brave, and also Chinese Uyghur's etc. So yes, you could say it is brave. I ultimately see it as a blessing either way from Allah. Millions of french muslims in France don't want abaya in school. Because they are french like jews or christians and understand the laws. A few young girls didn't understand. They had an explaination and accept. The father of one refused. He went to school and said he was hoing to kill them. A few months ago a teacher was beheaded by the familly for a lesson about freedom of dpeech, Why abaya is a political outfit in France ? It's not a traditionnal outfit from north africa but middle east. During the 10 years of civil war in algeria the FIS committed murders, massacres, attacks and obliged women to wear abayas. In France it began at the same time that djihadism. Woman can wear abaya in France but not in school. Because it's religious. They have to do Like jews or christians or buddhist or other muslims. No teligion in a republic school. Or parents can choose a private school.

Very strong point about What we are consuming on internet!! This is why I had to stop watching movies. Especially instagram!! Uploading our photos there is asking people to like us, we begin to beg people for validation instead of being self aware, secure and content in our own skin. The secular West’s double standards are glaringly evident from how they deal with “irrationality”. When this so-called irrationality is linked with religion it’s a problem. However, when it comes to things like “gender fluidity” it’s completely fine. Another example that can be mentioned is how the “clairvoyant” Edgar Cayce was extremely popular during the early 20th-century. And it’s the same story when it comes to aliens. The secular West, unable to fight its innate tendency to believe in the ghayb, proposes the likely existence of a non-human species which could communicate with our world - the same way Muslims believe in the jinn! Of course all of this is done in the name of their own religion: science. They even have their own priests in the form of astrobiologists etc. This belief of theirs is of the same nature as ours, even if they try and add some pseudo-empiricist spice: there may be tangible elements pointing towards the existence of aliens. They fail to grasp how we too say there are “tangible elements” regarding the influences of the jinn within our world.* .

Muslim intellectuals 😂 Good one 👍🏾 Ablutions (Wudu') (13)Chapter: The going out of women for answering the call of nature(13)باب خُرُوجِ النِّسَاءِ إِلَى الْبَرَازِ Sahih al-Bukhari 146 Narrated `Aisha: The wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqi` at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. `Umar used to say to the Prophet (ﷺ) "Let your wives be veiled," but Allah's Apostle did not do so. One night Sauda bint Zam`a the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) went out at `Isha' time and she was a tall lady. `Umar addressed her and said, "I have recognized you, O Sauda." He said so, as he desired eagerly that the verses of Al-Hijab (the observing of veils by the Muslim women) may be revealed. So Allah revealed the verses of "Al-Hijab" (A complete body cover excluding the eyes).
@ankhmorpok1497
@ankhmorpok1497 7 ай бұрын
There were a series of statements from the lady about Muslim women's experiences that are far from reality. There is a reason there is a Western-inspired move to give Muslim women more rights over family life, work, inheritance etc across the Muslim world and not the other way of the West cloistering women at home and discouraging them from working as many of our Mullahs want.

For all of those who think it is ideal if Muslim women are not financially dependent on men: Would it be ideal if Muslim men were not sexually dependent on their women? For example would it be ideal if men could purchase (at low cost) harems of docile life-like forever-young sex robots? How would you respond to Muslim men who justified this by saying such robots are necessary to give men true independence, such that they are not forced to stay in relationships with women who are rude, jealous, controlling, manipulative, fat, old, or ugly? How would you respond to Muslim men who said that Muslim women need to "step up their game" such that men choose to be with them instead of a robot that is more friendly, beautiful, young, and thin? The cop out answer is to say sex robots are haram, but there are other conceivable halal alternatives that would do the same thing: flood men with cheap alternatives. Obviously such alternatives would weaken and ultimately destroy marriage because it takes away the dependence that men have on women for sex. But that is literally what giving women financial independence does; it makes them independent from men. And that's why no society or religion ever did give women that independence, except for our current dystopia.

Can we please cut some slack to those of us who are Muslims and don’t wear headscarves? We’ve fought many barriers to get where we are and continue to do so. My work involves a form of community outreach and the Muslim/hijabi women are just not interested in engaging with me/us. In fact, some of them have a sort of arrogance whereby people like me are looked down upon because I choose to work and they’re at home raising their families, as if I’m not! Also, please don’t forget- we are a religion of intentions, so headscarf or not, we’ll be judged according to what’s in our hearts and how we act vs wearing an item of clothing and pretending we’re holier than though.

It's bad to view non hijab women as bad Muslims. Islam doesn't force women to put on the hijab. But we should not also forget the consequences of not doing it, in the eyes of Allah.

As a by born and practicing Muslim I often think about what the world needs to be like for Muslims if we start to protest or fight against the oppression of those who are playing nasty games against us only to dominate us and destroy our societies across the world, looting muslim countries resources by using violence/proxy wars in the name of terrorism or some kind of political ideologies. Then I realize that our beloved Prophet (PBUH) said that his there will be times when his Ummah the Muslims would face tremendous oppressions and crucial challenges by the non believers yet we the Muslims will achieve the highest level position in the world after fighting against all the oppressors and would also be able to establish peace/stability across the world by the grace of almighty Allah.

As always in France, the law goes touch much larger than what is actually advertised for. In this case not only abayas are prohibited but all clothing that covers the arms. Last week girls in kimonos were refused home and their parents were called. Girls with long sleeves T-shirts too. Girls with the same pieces of clothing were scrutinised to guess which of them were wearing them for religious reasons and then exclude them. On these grounds only, this law should be fought in courts for discrimination. The situation is just ridiculous!

Muslimahs such as yourself are so very inspiring. I feel like a Neandertal trying to convey my inner mind into words and fumble around. But you have the background of a journalist and put it all together so well! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. I'm working up the courage to get back to wearing hijab. I treated myself to 2 beautiful extra large Shayla hijabs and some very nice under caps that are rather upmarket but will actually fit my thick hair and big head (thick skull, not large brain 🤪 ). Because the mass-produced under caps from China are utterly hopeless for a big Crow Indian woman!! I look ridiculous. Small tedious details but they really help give me the courage to wear hijab much more often!

This is very much needed in our family circles.. Though uncomfortable but such discussions are now requirement. What nice idea to bring up talk shows wr u rnt involved directly with ur daugghters... Though present time demands it from fathers to be ready to explain to their kids islamic discipline... And learn language to be used and make the choice of words correctly.. Such talk shows can be very useful...

Living in a non-muslim country where I can freely choose and live in our society as a Muslim woman, I wonder of the experience of hijabi travellers (for business and leisure reasons) to these places that have these anti-modest, anti-Islamic-wear etc. policies.
