I started with hookah in 2012, and from the very beginning I was an extremely heavy smoker (I smoked an average of 250g of tobacco daily), switched to vaping back in 2015 and never looked back ever since; from 12 mg down to 1mg, and soon down to zero nicotine. Vaping is the only option that makes smokers control exactly how much nicotine they're getting into their bodies. "They" should make it safer, not forcing us into the black market if they're serious about our health, but no we know exactly what they're serious about.

When I was at highschool school around 2005-2010 allot of the kids smoked cigarettes before vaping was a thing, if kids now are vaping instead of smoking surely it's a win as most of those kids vaping would be smoking instead. I started smoking around 2010 and quit with vaping in 2012, I quit vaping in 2013. Some reason I started smoking again in 2016 and then quit smoking and started vaping in 2017.

I was a dual user for a while with cigarettes and vaping My doctor told me i had copd and i dropped the cigarettes completely and just been vaping A year later my doctor told me I had no signs of copd any more So yes vaping saved my life

I have been vaping for 10 years. I have always been careful about using reputable juices, I did use 3ml nicotine till I broke my neck last summer & the doc strongly suggested I cut out nicotine, which I did & don't miss it. I found the video fair and balanced. I never used any cannabinoids in any form & never will & I sure won't use anything with vitamin E acetate. I am disappointed that you were a bit hard on the Institute of Human Anatomy. A lot of their videos involve parts of human cadavers so aren't for everyone but for anyone interested in human anatomy the channel is very interesting.

I was a nic baby (mom smoked while breast feeding and during childhood). I grew up craving nicotine all the way into my early 20s, the craving never went away despite me having never smoked myself. I started vaping so I could ween myself out of the cravings. If vaping wasn't an option I would have started smoking, something that killed many of my relitives. I'm now down to a small amount of nic and am hopeful to stop all together.

I had just watched that video and I was thinking the same thing. They seemed to go back and forth about vaping being good and possibly being bad. The only good point they made was that vaping 'thc and vitamin e acetate' caused the lung issues. However, they should have been more clear that 'yes, nicotine vaping is not the issue'. Glad you guys covered this content.

8:00 - I think the whole banning of vaping products before they went out and talk to kids, is the only reason any of them would turn to cigarettes. It’s far more accessible just like alcohol which both have higher rates of underage consumption. Just had someone say “smoking” vape causes cancer because of the nicotine… for one.. when did vapor become smoke? And when did nicotine cause cancer? Idk man. I feel you missed the mark with this one. I'm a med student and a vaper so I'm a long time subscriber to both channels. I feel like he was pretty fair about it. He mentioned that is a consideration when vaping that there is the possibility you might run into these substances if you're not careful and to make sure you buy your juice from a reputable retailer. Which is exactly what you say. Vaping isn't *harmless* The truth is it's the lesser (albeit, much much lesser) of two evils.

The vast majority of vapers especially those outside the USA only vape nicotine not thc. It's possible to tell 100% the truth but frame it in such a way that it becomes propaganda, the BBC does this. Given this type of propaganda is getting so common, being aware that someone is doing it to you is a vital skill

What are your thoughts on the claims of heavy metals? From the one I looked at it seems they are less or similar levels to cigarettes and in my opinion most contaminates could be avoided by not ordering from China and avoiding coils with certain compositions. The study seemed fairly alarmist mentioning regulatory limits of the metals the health limits and some random cancer threshold with the samples exceeding the limits for most stuff. The issue comes in at how that can be absorbed by the body and how accurate the limitations are the the actual damage they can cause.

Most of these heavy metal claims come from dishonest science tests where they press the fire button without any sucking motion therefore burning the coil into oblivion. Jai haze has a video of an university student taking to him in his shop about it. Just stay away from using coil metal that's non standard like NI200 and Titanium that give off toxic fumes past a certain temp and you'll be fine. I'd stay away from ceramic coils like that Feelm tech coil too

You are not the bench mark for everyone, my sisters the opposite of you she started with vapping and then got really into cigarettes and passed away at 27 and there is evidence that shows that ecigs (especially because this is their first tobacco product for them) are a gateway "drug" of sorts but its not them just going to normal cigrettes they may also turn to other illicit drugs. My step siblings a good example because she moved on to heroin she's still alive I just pretend she's not.

In the case of vaping weed concentrate its safer to smoke weed instead unless you made the vape cart yourself with natural terpenes or get it from a good trusted source. Nicotine vaping tho is much safer due to there not being a black market (yet because of the stupid flavour ban)

I remember this, it was a couple of years ago, and he is basing his entire assessment on this one time frame. Regular nicotine vaping had nothing to do with it, it was Vitamin E acetate was added to illegal vapes (mainly in the USA if I recall correctly), and it is not a suitable vaping additive, as it was found to be the culprit of this pneumonia thing. And as proof, it hasn't been happening any more that I have heard of, so the problem seems to have been addressed by THAT industry or the regulators.
