I think it makes sense to go simple. If they make tier sets on par with the ones from the last few seasons, then it might be hard to tell what % of your damage is from your base class, hero talent, and tier set so they could over or under tune base classes as well as hero talents because of a tier set thats only lasting one season.

As a “casual,” who is usually behind in getting tier sets I actually like the simple ones, as it feels much less bad to just be missing out on 5% or whatever. When you’re missing a tier set that actually changes how your spec plays it feels really bad.

Great video, as usual. Was thinking about the conclusion, and for M+, since the affixes were "reworked" and many include a type of magical damage increase taken for mobs, guessing that one of the DH roles will be included in Meta as Chaos Brand will be indispensable for high end groups. Been playing Blood as long as I can remember as a tank and excited about the upcoming expansion.

For moonkin theres minor options in the hero talents that actually do impact how you could potentially rearrange your specc tree though, so i think its good they are being conservative with the tier set bonuses. I dont know how it looks for other classes of course, but moonkin seem to have quite a few options.

Assuming they're doing it with what they've done with some discounted abilities and tier sets (e.g. discounted Starsurge/Starfall from the tier set giving full value into Pulsar), they'll give the full energy value for those Monk hero talents even though they're discounted.

Does not work that way at this point. It should, but the list of "Should-and-then-never-does" is pretty long. The hotfix to increase Brewmaster's Magic Stagger from a month ago still isn't actually implemented. It's been reported roughly 60945398234897239847234987 times, and it's still not in the game, despite the hotfix saying it was AND the nerf to Monk's damage that was implemented alongside it working just fine from day 1. In other words, don't count on it.

While you were talking about the guardian 4 piece is made me think about something tangentially related. Does the hero talent that makes Thrash become an Arcane damage ability also make the Thrash dot an Arcane dot? If so is it Arcane damage and a bleed? Or just one or the other? Thanks

Again. When did it become this toxic mindset that all wow players seem to have; that all specs must have huge changes that change how you play it. And at the same time when it's changed to be unrecognisable they cry. Maybe just maybe. These specs aren't changed much cause they are settled on a really good spot in gameplay. Monk and blood DK needed big changes. Prot paladin being one of the most popular and successful tanks in DF... Probably doing pretty good. At that point it's better to keep them fundamentally sound and give more of a flavor touch up with hero talents. So why leave bear druid in the dust. Problem with druid is that they get so much quality of life, variety and flexibility. It'd be very unfair if they top all roles. Druid should always be B tier for everything. It's class niche is to be serviceable in all areas. Perfect for solo main play. When you then want to go hardcore In a role, jump to alts. And I know many say Shaman needs changes. As a shaman main I disagree. The class is perfect for those wanting to mix melee with ranged combat. It's a hybrid spellblade class which is a concept foreign to most people so they judge it in the boxed way they think of classes. The only change I'd maybe wanna see is that enhancement could maybe be a tank spec. But right now it feels good to be the best half DPS half bulk spec.
