A director gives his Muslim character in a new short film a black lover to shake things up.
Zaher Saleh said it is not a coincidence that the film "The War Within" gives its Muslim character a black boyfriend, given that the two communities have been some of the most adversarial to the gay community.
"I wanted to break that," Saleh told Redding News Review Unrestricted in an exclusive interview.
