I often think of the “on stage” personas of The Warning vs. the “off stage” real life personalities of Dany, Pau, and Ale. I think this concert really emphasizes the “masks” that Dany and Ale wear; Dany is very “performative” on stage, as you might expect from the frontwoman, while Ale tends to step back into her silent Thunder Goddess role. Pau is certainly bolder on stage; if you need proof, watch the woman - who’s said that her biggest fear is that she’ll tell the crowd to do something and they’ll ignore her - turn into Commander Pau, telling the crowd to get their hands up during “Evolve,” or telling them to open the mosh pit before “Sharks.” But she really tends to have the weakest “mask” of the three; when she’s really feeling something, you see it. It makes me wonder if they’ll be “officially” releasing this concert’s performance of “Breathe.”

This is an awesome song through and through, but what stands out the most for me are the 3-part harmonies... Ale generally doesn't get enough credit for what she adds to the band. I'm guessing that's because she doesn't sing any lead vocals, and that she's a bit "shy." On the contrary, though, if you really listen to their music, Ale's bass parts and backup vocals are a key reason why the band's music is so great. As the A&R lady from Lava Records said [paraphrasing], "Ale is so technically perfect." And, as a 35-year professional musician myself, I couldn't agree more. 🙂

I’m definitely not a medical historian for TW but it seems they all get sick within a few days of each other for obvious reasons. During shows where they are considered “S!CK” usually they’re all in different stages of illness/recovery. Pau got sick first in Canada and then Dany and then Ale. That’s why we got the Montreal acoustic set minus Ale. It seems Pau was either the last to get sick this time or got it the worst so she may have struggled the most with Dany and Ale probably more recovered. In any case, they damn near have to be dying before they even consider postponing or canceling a show. Pau has mentioned in a couple different interviews that they consciously limited her lead/backing roles on KMF because it is more of a strain on her over a tour to sing and drum constantly. I’m sure I’m not the only one who noticed a much more prominent role by Ale in being the primary backing vocalist on KMF as well as including some vocal backing tracks on a few songs for live shows. They also seem to be using some drum tracks live for the new songs. It’s funny to see Pau not playing when you hear some drum sounds in the live show footage. I’ve read on Discord that Pau used different snares especially in the studio while recording so I don’t know if it’s just not practical for her to play live or if it’s more load reduction. They did experiment with a 2nd snare on her kit but it looked really uncomfortable for her to play.

Yes, she does. She said in an interview she has the type that her mind never lets her have any down time. The meds are to control it so she can actually rest. She was worried the meds would affect her creativity but so far, it hasn’t.

I really enjoy your reactions but this one was rough. No one has ADD anymore, and there is no "right way" to have ADHD, just like I'm not a little bit autistic. I don't expect everyone to know everything but it still sucks to hear people you respect miss the mark. I think Dany's expressions are mainly due to her commitment to sing live and prioritizing amazing sounding vocals over pretty expressions. "Pretty expressions" are overrated.
@zack_reactsАй бұрын
I hope like any of my other reactions you- the things I say should really be taken with a grain of salt. I personally was diagnosed ADHD and medicated. I think there is still a lot of ambiguity surrounding the subject but my comments are never meant to offend OR EDUCATE. I appreciate you watching.
