Welcome to The Warning Army. Meet the Villarreal Velez sisters from Monterrey Mexico, the site of this concert footage. Daniela on guitar and most lead vocals, Paulina on drums and some lead vocals, and Alejandra on bass and backing vocals. They aren't kids anymore, but they were when they started. Today Dany is 24, Pau (pronounced Pow) is 22, and Ale is 19. The have been playing together over 10 years. Got their big start when their cover of Enter Sandman, at ages 14 12 an 9, went viral. They have opened for Foo Fighters, Muse, Halestorm, Def Leppard, G'N'R, and 3 Days Grace. Just finished a European headlining tour. This song is the 5th single from the upcoming 4th album, Keep Me Fed due out June 28. Dany is playing a baritone Fender Strat here, in drop A. Ale's Spector 5 string bass is also in Drop A. Released Friday Apr 5, video was shot the weekend before. Not written for the eclipse, I think they wanted to get it released in time for that on the 8th. The are awesome live. Lzzy hale has said that they attack the audience, and called then fierce. Check out their live performance of "Evolve" at the 2023 mtv video music awards. Three classically trained sisters when they were still tiny little kids. In 2014 they captured the world’s attention when they were only 9, 12 and 14 years old, covering Metallica’s Enter Sandman, filmed in their basement for their grandparents to see their progress. Their fans, The Warning Army, gave them support and encouragement as they documented their progress, covering songs from AC/DC, Guns and Roses, Ozzy Osborne, Muse, Foo Fighters and Metallica, often playing in front of school kids. Honing their skills. By 2015 they were writing and performing their own music on stage. Opening for their idols, like Guns and Roses and Foo Fighters. Metallica inviting them to rework Enter Sandman with Canadian singer Alessia Cara for the 30th anniversary Blacklist Album. You can see all this on video, when they were children in pajamas, playing like professional veterans, to now doing Automatic Sun! All three can take turns singing lead while playing their instruments. Let that sink in! The youngest bassist Ale, recognized by Spector guitars, designing specially made guitars for her. Fans call her the ‘Thunder Goddess’. Drummer Pau can sing lead with intensity or break your heart with ballads WHILE drumming! DRUMEO named her as Best Rock Drummer of 2023. Lead singer and eldest sister Dany, recognized by her idols, Matt Bellamy of Muse and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, both had specially made guitars gifted to her, built to her specifications. Her vocal limit is unknown as she keeps raising the bar. Three Days Grace invited her to be their frontwoman for their song Painkiller when The Warning opened for the band! They just finished a sold out tour leg, 19 venues across Europe, and are heading off for 3 dates in Japan in early June then another run through Europe. They recently announced a few US shows before hooking up again with Halestorm in the Fall for a run through Canada with Halestorm and Evanescence. They bring their A game whether the audience is 50 or over 60,000. They have opened for a lot of bands including Def Leppard, Foo Fighters, Guns & Roses, Muse (9 times) and toured with Three Days Grace, Halestorm and Eruca Sativa plus many festivals. This year they have played Shiprocked and are scheduled to play Wacken Open Air as well as many more concerts as headliners. Their 4th studio album comes out on June 28th.

A KZbin cover of Enter Sandman when they were 14, 12 and 9 went viral when Metallica commented on it saying Pau (the drummer) was a complete bad ass. If you were to go watch some of their very early videos when they were just starting out, you would know that these Mexican sisters were not yet little bilingual Catholic school girls when they first got into music at summer camps. Mom's a dentist. Dad's an engineer. He used to run a recording studio. They grew up listening to their parents' rock favorites and watching concerts on TV. The kids all learned piano first, then discovered Rock Band, the video game. Suddenly, they were choosing instruments. Dany started guitar lessons at eight. Pau started drum lessons at six. Ale started bass at seven, a few years later, as she's the youngest. Their first two albums were crowd funded and independently produced! Before watching any more of their music, I'd suggest you watch their two TEDx Talks on the University of Nevada channel, from way back in 2016 and 2017. Perhaps also watch The Warning: The Mexican Rock Stars Who Happen To Be Sisters [TIDAL Rising Documentary] on the TIDAL channel. Maybe watch Mayday in the Making, parts 1-6. As much as you like it now, if you know who they are, and where they come from, their music will make a lot more sense. These ladies are now 19, 22, and 24, and just finished a sold out tour, 19 dates in Europe and the UK. They're headed to Japan, Canada, the USA, Europe, and other places this year. They already sold out a 10,000 seat arena in Mexico City for next February, and added another date there, due to demand. Their fourth album drops in late June. They are the real deal. They were a great cover band as LITTLE KIDS. But they don't need to do covers anymore. They are as good or better than the bands they covered! And in most cases, they are more fun to watch. Their superpowers are LIVE performance, music COMPOSITIONAL skills, LYRICAL depth, STAGE presence and charisma, and personal integrity.

They are so young and so seasoned at the same time. E.g. Ale is just 19 and she has already played in small shoddy bars for a few dozens and in stadiums in front of tens of thousands. They have played in the mud (literally), under the rain, in the cold, in the heat, experiencing all sorts of technical difficulties, with flu, suffering pain, and everything you could imagine, and they've always pulled it off. These girls are hard as the rock they play. True professionals with an immense determination and passion for music. The best part? They are eager for more!

Comfortable because they have been performing as a band for more than 10 years! The Warning is a band of 3 sisters. Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra. They live in Monterrey, Mexico and have been rocking out as a band since 2012 (when they were 12, 10, and 7 years old)! Their parents loved music and they grew up watching and listening to rock concerts. Daniela (Dany) and Paulina (Pau) attended a music initiation class when they were 5 and 3 respectively. Alejandra (Ale’) attended the same class when she was old enough. They loved it. They all started classical piano lessons when they were between 6 and 7 years old. When Dany was 7 their dad bought them the Rock Band video game and they absolutely fell in love with rock music and performing on stage…. even though it was just a game. When Dany was 8 years old her dad asked her if she wanted to learn another instrument, along with piano. She chose the guitar. Pau chose the drums when she was 6, and Ale’ chose the bass at 6 (but was too small to play it until she was 7). Ale’ had been playing bass for about 1 month when they decided to play together and that was when the band was formed. In 2023 they celebrated 10 years as The Warning”. It is important to understand that their parents never pushed them to do this. This project was 100% the girl’s decision. Their parents completely supported them but never pushed them. In 2014 they made a video to send to their grandparents to show them how they had progressed in their playing. The video was too big to just email so their dad uploaded it onto KZbin. It was a cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman and it went viral! To date it has well over 25 million views and was shouted out by Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, as well as many other famous bands. The girls were completely caught off guard by the attention this video got and they had to make a decision- they quit school and started homeschooling in order to devote as much time as possible to their music. They were 100% committed to this project and have never slowed down since (practicing hours every day separately and even more hours together). In 2015 they released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was a mix of different kinds of songs as they sorted out their musical style. They released their first album in 2017 called XXI Century Blood (21st Century Blood). They released their second album in 2018 called Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey from desire, to love, to infatuation, to obsession, to psychotic, to murder, to remorse, and finally to suicide. It was an amazing album and was up for, and won, many Independent Music awards in 2019. In 2022 their third album (first since signing to Lava Records) called Error. It is simply amazing! Dany sings lead on about 75% if the songs. Pau sings lead on about 25% of the songs (either while drumming, or while at the keyboard, or just out front). Ale’ is a little shy about singing lead but steps in and sings lead when needed. All 3 can literally jump in and sing lead on any song if needed (with no drop-off in quality) and their harmonies in songs are simply amazing! They have all given master classes on their instruments and song writing and performing (even as young as 18 years old). They have opened for several great bands including Alice Cooper, Def Leopard, Stryper, The Foo Fighters, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Three Days Grace, Guns n Roses, and their absolute idols Muse. In 2022 they played 103 concerts in South American and North America. In 2023 they played 75 concerts dates in 13 different countries all over the world. The band was names “Best Live Band” for 2023. Paulina (drummer) was named “Up and Coming Drummer” for 2023 Paulina was also named “Best Rock Drummer” for 2023 by Drumeo Magazine. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico.
